How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewLocation was near the airport and it was excellent for the night stopover in Lima. The owner arranged transport to and from the airport late at night and then early the next morning. This extra service was fantastic.

Verified review15 mins or so by taxi from the airport and in a gated community, so that gets you away from the troubled Callao area by the airport. Very friendly and helpful reception by the owner who kindly organised transport to and from the airport for us.
Was quite noisy but hey it's a capital city and nothing that ear plugs and sleep deprived travel doesn't overcome.

Verified reviewThe beds and rooms were comfortable and clean. Milton made it very easy for us but picking us up from the airport and returning us to the airport the next morning in his very nice, large car (for a small additional fee). This made our layover so much smoother! Milton is very helpful and responsive. He speaks English as well.

OHH almost forgot their pizza was so yummy and tasty...

Verified reviewGreat communication for pick up from airport. Our flight was delayed from a 9pm to a 1:30am arrival and Milton was there waiting when we arrived. Bed was comfortable and room quiet. Felt safe as it is in a gated community and door to door transfer.
Not a negative but I was charged 40 soles for each airport transfer. I paid by card for this which was appreciated as we were out of cash.

Was also very flexible when we were making last minute changes. He also walked us to local restaurants and pointed us in the direction if cash machines 0 The room was warm and cosy, despite how cold it was in Lima, and had all the bits we needed Great breakfast

Verified reviewMy fiancee and I arrived at the guesthouse early and checked in early very easily. The owner is very attentive, polite and approachable and you can address him for any help or assistance you need. The owner picked us up several times in the city and drove us to the bus station. It is very easy to agree with the owner about everything. The breakfast was simple but very tasty and enough for us. The internet worked very well and we had a big TV with lots of channels. Our room was en-suite and the room was clean and big enough, the bathroom was always clean with hot water. We spent 3 nights at his guest house and had a really great time.I highly recommend Vip Transfer Hostel to anyone who wants good accommodation near the airport and the Plaza Norte bus station.

Verified reviewMilton was a stunning host and a great asset. My friend was in hospital and Milton went out of his way to accommodate getting me to hospital. He helped me to communicate with others by acting as a translator, as I don't have any Spanish language skills beyond the basics. He was flexible with extra requests and for longer stays and all in all a great asset in what was a very stressful time for me. Milton made me feel at home and as if nothing was too much trouble. Coped well with me being vegetarian. Would totally recommend to anyone.

Verified reviewClean and comfy place. The owner was really nice and helpful even gave us a lift to the airport. The guesthouse is located in a safe neighbour and very quiet as well, got an amazing sleep in those comfy beds! Good wifi and tv working. Got a delicious breakfast as well. Happy as!
