How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewComfortable room, towel included, beds and pillows comfortable, kitchen and option to purchase breakfast, the staff are all very friendly and extremely helpful, the location is within walking distance of Kennedy Park in Miraflores.
While we were there some of the other guests were a bit loud and whenever other doors are opened/closed in the property it can be loud - not a major issue though. The shared bathroom could be a little cleaner, particularly the shower.

Verified reviewVery well located in Miraflores and very friendly staff. Simple breakfast for 15 soles. Nice terrace on the roof. Very comfortable matresses, and clean rooms. Basic kitchen to cook your own food. Overall a very good hotel for this price ! The other guests and the atmosphere were nice as well.
The common bathroom is often busy with other guests, sometimes you need to wait for your turn. The breakfast was very simple, it could include some more things (like fruits).

Verified reviewI love this place so much! The staff are like family, and because this was my second time there, I really felt like they were all my friends. Many of the guests, including myself, stayed for pretty extended times, and the guests that do that are all really fantastic! You really do build a kinship that is hard to separate from when you or one of them finally has to leave. I miss that place.
Again, this place is wonderful, but the only thing that bothered me...sort of a lot is when one day I went to bed and forgot to lock my locker. When I woke up, I found that my locker now had a lock on it. My stuff was gone. I had no idea where it went. I told the management staff, and he said that I can just ask the other guest when they wake up. I guess I was okay with that, but I accepted it. I left a note on my locker asking where my things were. A few hours later, I brought it up again with management, and this time another guest from Scotland was there and heard me and said, "Oh, were those your things?" I said yes and asked where they were. He said he wanted my locker, and so it was unlocked, so he decided to take my things out and move them somewhere else. He added, "I looked through your things and saw nothing that looked expensive, so I figured it was okay to move your stuff out." We had a rather heated exchange about going into another person's locker and then going through their property to determine what he thought might be valuable, then taking things out of the locker and just putting them in some other mystery place. This all happened in front of the manager and the other staff, but absolutely nothing was done about this guy admitting in front of everyone that he had removed things from my locker. After the argument, the manager jokingly said, "I thought I was going to have to give you a weapon (while playfully passing a fork to me from his desk). I love the manager; he's wonderful, but I was uncomfortable for the rest of the days the Scottish guy was there for fear that he would just help himself to anything he wanted from anyone there and the staff would just let him do it. I really think he should have been asked to leave once it was discovered and he admitted to going through and removing things from another guest's locker.

Verified reviewBreakfast was okay, very basic.
We were in the private room shared bathroom . The room backed on to the road and had very thin windows so was cold and loud at night. Room was not clean, hair all over the bedding, floor was dirty and room had a horrible smokey smell to it. was very loud at night, kitchen didn’t seem to have a close time and some nights people were cooking till 11.30pm and up in the communal area till very late, no quite times . Walls were very thin so you could hear everything. Bathroom was also dirty. Place just had very strange vibes, wouldn’t recommend staying.

Verified reviewThe best part of my stay was the location, it was in a tourist area, Walking distance from the mall and parks. The price was great value for money, also you can just add $2 more and get a continental breakfast which I really enjoyed, the staff was amazing too especially Eduardo.
I didn't like the fact that they had no microwave.

Verified reviewThe best part about this hostel is Edu at the front desk who loves to help guests with navigating Lima. It's a budget place, which is great. The upstairs terrace was a nice place to relax as well.
But they could pay more attention to the bathrooms, especially the one on the terrace. It was always wet, no hooks to put your clothes, towel or things for the shower. The common area downstairs can be heard by all the rooms upstairs. When I was there, a guy was using the table downstairs constantly for work meetings which is inconsiderate imo. And the telephone rings every time someone buzzes the door, no matter the hour which could be improved with a quiet system

Verified reviewThe pics of the facility did not do enough justice; I think the place it so lovely. It's decorated really well, and I love the organization of the rooms. Nothing is very crowded, and you have enough room for everything! Also, they must attract a certain type of guest because the people that stay are all so friendly and engaging. They are very social and we all got along swimmingly. And if you're into fitness, the neighborhood is perfect and there are multiple outdoor gyms to choose from. The staff IS WONDERFUL! Karla, Edu, Harry, and Caesar were WORLD-CLASS hosts! They were all so friendly and went above and beyond to make sure you were comfortable inside the house as well as outside. And they know the entire city perfectly, so if you want to know about an activity or where to eat in Miraflores or any other part of Lima, they will absolutely know what/where to recommend for you. Another thing I didn't see many other reviews talk about are the beds. Omg, they are the most comfortable of any other hostel I've ever stayed in! They are soft, but not too soft. And they have two different styles of pillows on each bed: one for if you like puffy and the other for if you prefer the thin type. The pillow thing is subtle, but it's nice to have the choice! One more thing about the beds: they are put together solidly! That means that when the person above you moves around, you barely notice it because the beds don't make any creaky, noisy sounds, and the beds don't get shaky when the upper person uses the ladder. Ultimately, I loved my stay at Temazcal and VERY HIGHLY recommend it!
Honestly, there is nothing that comes to mind that I didn't like. If you are a remote worker that needs good internet, the internet is super fast in the front area and it's quiet enough that you can do work with very little distraction.
