There was a lot of noise in the halls - I heard someone knock very loudly at around 2:30am in the hallway and the next night there was loud music playing - I messaged reception to ask if they could do anything and they said it was coming from the neighbour but they have asked them to turn it down.

The bed was so comfortable and the bathroom had hot water! This place is super close to the Plaza de Armas so it was really convenient for trips in and out of town. Laundry service was quick and the view from the rooftop was pretty special. Oh and laundry service was quick. Despite the cons I’ve listed below I would stay here again

During our stay we had to change rooms, and the price difference was around $10. However, the second room was quite small compared to the first one.

We had a wonderful stay! The staff was exceptionally kind and always ready to help with anything we needed, which made us feel very welcome. Breakfast was tasty, and there was hot water. The location is perfect – just a short 7–8 minute walk to the main square, with great restaurants and bars right nearby.

Pillows were not very comfortable. Loud at night (noise in corridors ) especially if people arrived and rung the door bell.

Location was great, nearby to the centre and other places. The staff were super kind and helpful. Laundry services were convenient. Rooftop was amazing! Perfect for breakfast, which is where it is served, and even a great spot to relax generally.

La Puerta del Sol was the perfect home base for my time in Arequipa. The beds were really comfortable, the rooms were dark and quiet at night (great for sleeping!), yet filled with natural light during the day. The space is clean, well-ventilated, and very peaceful. One of my favorite features was the beautiful rooftop terrace, where they serve a lovely breakfast each morning. It’s the perfect way to start the day with fresh air and views of the city. The staff was wonderful - friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help. Laundry service was easy and convenient, and the location couldn’t be better: perfect for exploring Arequipa on foot. I slept so well here and felt totally at ease throughout my stay. I'm so thankful for such a great experience and would definitely return!

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and attentive, which made my visit feel very welcoming. The hotel was clean and located in a very safe area, just a short walk from Plaza de Armas—super convenient for exploring Arequipa. I especially loved the rooftop area. Breakfast was served there each morning with a beautiful view of Misti Mountain—such a peaceful way to start the day. I also went up in the evening to enjoy the sunset. While there are many rooftop bars in the area, this one was my favorite. It was quiet and uncrowded, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy the view in peace.

No Refridgerator in the Room Breakfest wasn't that good and a bit poor and they wanted us to pay 20 sol per person for the breakfast for the first day, which I think is way to much for what you get!

The locations is great, quite place, super tasty foods just across the street. Walking distance to plaza mayor. The place is very clean, good and new facilities. Helpfull staff, helped with a taxi to airport. Highly recommend.

No real window in our room (it was facing the inner staircase), breakfast quite limited, tiny space apart from beds n no storage space in the room or for toiletries in the bathroom. Doors need to be slammed to lock them and with tourists leaving for tours at 3am it can be a nuisance.

Clean place, nice rooftop space, staff very helpful, beds very comfortable, excellent shower and bathroom of good size. Great location.

The hotel's location is excellent, close to the monastery, the plaza de arma, lots of restaurants and an easy walk to the mirador de yanahuara. Rooms are excellent and staff is very friendly, 24x7 reception. Luggage storage and laundry service are available. Breakfast or an afternoon drink on the roof is super. We arrived very early (06:00) and understandably had to pay extra for early checkin. We do recommend this place and would come again.
