How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewI have to start by saying that when it comes to rest and comfort, the hotel delivers very well. The beds are truly comfortable, the mattresses are excellent quality, and you can tell they’ve invested in creating a space where you can sleep soundly. Also, the windows are completely soundproof — you can’t hear any noise from the outside, which is a big plus, especially in a city with heavy traffic. However, not everything is positive. One detail that really stands out — and not in a good way — is the pool. Every time I’ve stayed at this hotel, the pool has never been available. It’s always “under maintenance” or “temporarily out of service.” At this point, it feels like a recurring excuse. If they advertise it as part of the amenities, the least they could do is ensure it's actually usable. And although I don't like to single out individuals, I feel the need to mention the repeated behavior of a receptionist named Claudia. I understand everyone can have a bad day, but her attitude was consistently unpleasant. Every time I approached her with a question, she responded with clear disinterest, as if helping me was a burden rather than her job. She smiles awkwardly, with body language that communicates discomfort and rejection. It wasn’t just a one-time impression — it was a consistent pattern throughout my stay. It’s unfortunate, because the hotel infrastructure has potential. But when staff members convey indifference or a bad attitude, the guest experience drops significantly. Claudia wasn’t verbally rude, but her body language and tone were noticeably hostile and unprofessional. And that, especially at the front desk, reflects very poorly. In summary: excellent beds, great sound insulation, but services are unavailable and customer service falls short in key areas. A place that could be excellent... if they cared a little more about human interaction and delivering what they promise.
I stayed at the Dazzler Hotel on several occasions over the past month, totaling nearly a full month of lodging. I used to consider this one of the best hotels, which is why I returned multiple times. However, my last experience was deeply disappointing and concerning. When I checked out to travel to Germany, I accidentally left behind several high-value personal items in the room, including: A gold chain valued at $3,500 USD (which the hotel staff did report, and I appreciated that). A brand new Johnnie Walker Blue Label collector’s edition bottle, in its original box, valued at €450. Another bottle of Johnnie Walker Black Blood, half full. A bottle of wine. A pair of Oakley sunglasses, black-orange, valued at $750 USD. Other small items, such as a shoe. Unfortunately, the hotel never mentioned or returned any of the other items. When I arrived in Germany and unpacked, I realized many things were missing. I contacted the hotel and received a timeline of my check-in and check-out activities — as if they were trying to protect themselves instead of actually investigating the matter. What happened was theft inside the room, and the way it was handled shows a serious lack of accountability and transparency. To make matters worse, there was no running water for two full days at the hotel. This happened right before my international flight, and I couldn't even shower. The only "solution" offered was a single bottle of water in the room — as if one could bathe with that. I was paying for a suite, and it’s unacceptable for a hotel of this level to not have a water reserve or backup plan. And this wasn’t the first time. I had complained on previous occasions, and the reception staff told me, "Sir, this always happens. Please leave a review on Booking so that management takes it seriously, because guests always complain and nothing ever changes.

Verified reviewWe arrived almost midnight after a long trip, First thing we wanted to do was take a shower, However, we couldn’t, there was no water in the bathroom, but also in the entire hotel. We decided to change the hotel. So we canceled our stay and wanted our money back. The front desk staff, Mr. Jaír Basilio said that they only charge at the time of the check out and used the credit card only as a guarantee and he could cancel the guarantee so we would not be charged. However the hotel had already charged. I got in touch with the hotel today and they said they will return our money back, but it will take 2 or 3 weeks, so we will be expecting it. By the way, the water trouble is not a San Isidro district issue as Mr. Basilio said, he finally had to admit that it is about water pipes concern in the hotel building and he never told us the water trouble at the moment of check in, as he insisted he did. The hotel send to our room 3 big bottles of water, for a quick wash, after we complained for the inconvenience, unbelievable!! Well, we just want our money back!!
