Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing - hard to improve this
The couple who host the hotel are so welcoming and helpful. The rooms are great - spacious, well equipped and very comfortable. The breakfast was varied, delicious and substantial - bring a good appetite! I loved the comfortable seating area on the enclosed terrace with panoramic views out to the snow-stopped mountains. Just a great place to sit, read and relax

France-
Access to the hotel with our vehicle was not possible due to roadworks. The hotel owner kindly accompanied us (in our car) to show us an alternative route (known only by local people). The owner and his wife were attentive and always smiling, friendly, and welcoming. The hotel's original decor makes it unique. The rooms are comfortable. The hotel is calm (not in the center of the city but only 5 minutes walk from Plazza de Arma) The breakfast is very good. We were able to leave our vehicle inside the hotel during our excursion to Machu Picchu.

HungaryAs the rooms are facing to the corridor, it can be noisy when other guests or the hosts are passing by. Also there is no heating in the rooms, only small mobile heaters. It was not an issue for us but it can be for someone who prefer warmer temperature during the night.
The house is located not too far from the center and the city ruins - 8 mins walking and it has a really nice atmosphere. The hosts were really helpful and arranged everything that we requested - transfers, trips, tuk-tuk. The breakfast was also great and more then enough for us. Hot water and tea was always available that was a nice add on.

United StatesNothing negative to say!
My boyfriend and I had wonderful time here. Very close and peaceful walk to Ollantaytambo archaeological site. I arrived feeling sick but Gladys was so so kind to me and made me a muña tea and gave me a vomit bucket. I was so sick, I thought I wouldn’t be able to embark on a 4 day hike, but Gladys’ care and 2 wonderful breakfasts with beautiful views helped me feel better and I was able to hike to Machu Picchu! The room was cozy and warm with nice hot shower. Plenty of space to pack and organize hiking bags. We also really loved the personal touches of cultural artifacts and decorations throughout the building. It felt like walking through a small museum. I only wish we had more time to spend in the lovely Ollantaytambo and with the kind hospitality of Gladys!

We upgraded to the room with a comfortable King sized bed. The room and bathroom were spacious with plenty of storage, breakfast was nice, owners were wonderful and helpful, shower with hot water, quiet neighborhood 5 min walk to center. We loved staying here and actually came back after our trip to Macchu Picchu. Highly recommend. Thank you! Bonus--playful dogs (they only come if you call them).

United KingdomThis is a family owned hotel but everything’s nice and reliable. I came here for an unexpected stay as my plan had to be altered due to the strike in Cusco city, but I received all good advice from the owner who made my trip easier. A reliable stopover hotel was what I exactly needed and this is the one.

United KingdomThe host Carl was excellent, friendly and helpful. The breakfast was exceptional. The location was absolutely perfect for us, but a vehicle would be needed to get to the train station (for Cusco /Machu Picchu) as it was too far to walk due to the main road bridge being closed for repairs.

Gladis and Carlos were wonderful, helpful and friendly. Very knowledgeable. The hotel is very attractive, almost a museum with artesania of very high quality. Carlos helped us with our trip planning and coordinating a reasonably priced, excellent daytrip to the Salineras, Moray and Maras.

United StatesCarl and his wife has made this hotel an Inka stye museum and though located somewhat out of the way, is antecedent choice. It is clean, colorful, up to date and breakfast is great. They are so helpful with any questions you may have and I highly recommend this property. Note: Currently (Sep 2024) there is construction on the bridge but there is a back way around to the hotel. So much to enjoy in this village.
