Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaA bit old, need a bit of general tidy up.some decorations a cluttered.
Great accommodation, friendly staff and interesting decorations but probably not for everyone. We find it a unique accommodation which feels like travelling back in time to 1930s. Staff were attentive and let us store our luggage for 2 days before we checked in.

IrelandThe check in process was scary. Seemed like the staff didn't know what they were doing. The hotel is ancient and is heavily infested with weird energies. I didn't sleep well for I felt watched. The bathroom walls were falling apart. I couldn't open the window to my bedroom because it led into the livingroom of the hotel where I had no privacy. The breakfast was awful as the eggs tasted like cardboard and the juice felt stale. I would not stay here again.
The location was great.

FranceThe bohemian feel that is not surprising in the neighborhood can maybe be a bit disorienting. I would also invite hosts to maybe adjust their dress code. 😌
Are you looking for an atypical hotel with charm and personality? Are you looking to stay in a vintage mansion from the early 1900’s? Are you looking for friendly from hosts? Look no further. This is your place of choice in Barranco. This unconventional guesthouse is amazingly decorated. Though you might be a bit puzzled initially, it has all of the required comfort that you would expect and thus offers good value for the price!

United StatesAll old buildings have their quirks, of course. A deeper clean before arrival (sky-high ceilings) and more amenities (robust toiletries, etc) on hand during our stay would have made us that much more comfortable.
The staff was incredible! Personal care and personalized recommendations abound. The hotel building itself has incredible history and is chock full of Lima history come to life. You'll never forget it!

The location was great, we were able to get our washing done and the team at reception gave us plenty of information on Barranco when we arrived.

United KingdomThe place has aged a lot since its glory days (in the pictures) and the place is getting a bit tatty and dusty. There is so much ornamentation that it is clear its not getting thoroughly cleaned
Location was good, the city is quite noisy so earplugs are suggested. It was definitely very eccentric The staff were very friendly and helpful

NetherlandsThe antiques filled decor makes the accommodation quite dusty. Very simple and small breakfast, with coffee, bread, butter, scrambled eggs, and jam.
Fascinating old house filled with antiques and art located centrally in Barranco, Lima. Very helpful staff with tips and luggage storage prior to check-in and post checkout.

United KingdomThe building is a little bit dated so some fixtures and fittings were loose, bits of plaster dust in the corner of the room. But this is normal for the Barranco district, any building of that size and age will have the same issues.
Location in the Barranco area is great for art and good food spots. The host was very welcoming and even made us a packed lunch for our long bus journey when we left! Breakfast was also tasty and the hotel has many interesting antiquities which gave it an alternative atmosphere

AustraliaThe shower hot water took an age to come through. Only a minor matter. Oh the taxi they arranged from the airport was quite expensive. Make sure you are clear if you only want a one way fare from the airport.
The hotel is an artwork in itself. The owner Giancarlo has collected pieces of art from all over to furnish and decorate this old grand spanish house. The staff were very supportive when dealing with little dramas that occurred. We loved the breakfast cooked by Ragna and loved connecting with him, sharing stories and ideas. We loved our stay here. Our room had a little balcony overlooking the main street, the bed very comfortable. Loved the artwork on the walls. It felt like we were in another era.

AustraliaA work desk would have been handy. Breakfast was ok but a bit average. Fresh juice, banana, scrambled eggs, white bread roll with herb, butter and jam, strong coffee. A healthy cereal would improve things a lot.
The tourist publicity says Barranco is bohemian. In the 6 years since I last saw it, it has also become tired and gritty. Old buildings are falling apart, some restaurants are ordinary, traffic is worse. Maybe Casa Falleri' is bohemian too, or just eccentric. It's like 10 of Dickens' Old Curiosity Shops jammed in together, and they haven't sold anything for years. Every surface is covered in bric-a-brac. Staff are 'out of the box' too. Very helpful, and also eccentric. The street out front is very noisy but there is glazing to deaden it. The king size bed was very comfortable, the bathroom large and modern, while the room's plaster refit hasn't worked. A unique experience.

FranceIt was extremely dirty from the corridor to the room and bathroom, it was a shame. Staffs are unprofessional and careless.
It was probably a beautiful house before. It could be a nice and good place if it was well maintained, clean and properly managed but none of this is part of the plan of Casa Falleri apparently.
