Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesWe were a little cold the first night but the next two nights were fine. We used the extra warm comfy blanket provided and it wasnt bad enough to even report to the staff. Think it may have been from arriving from a hotter climate (35 C/95F) to a cooler one. However, my suggestion would be to have hot water bottles wrapped in a fleecy cover at night for guests to place in their beds. We had this at another hotel in Cusco and it really helped warm us up. Just a thought.
Everything was absolutely amazing! The hotel is beautiful....I took pictures of all the antique doors and windows and view from the terrace including Misti volcano. I'm a stickler for cleanliness and it's clean! Loved the courtyard....the details and aesthetic....memorable! We truly just loved our stay and if we ever come back to Arequipa will definitely stay here again. The staff were friendly, attentive, and you can tell they care about the guests at the hotel. We met the owner the first day as well. Check-in was a breeze. Beds were comfy. Nice hot showers with good shower head pressure and modern flare. Breakfast on the terrace was relaxing and the food was just perfect...eggs made to order and the fresh fruit, bread, cheeses, meat and avocado gave us a healthy start to our day. The walk was easy to get to the main square.

United KingdomThe door lock, whilst charming, was difficult to get accustomed to. Our room (Picchu Picchu) was directly beneath the breakfast terrace so was noisy with people walking up the stairs and scraping chairs from about 5.30am so maybe this should be made clearer for guests booking this room. I would have liked a coffee machine in the room and some more drinking water.
We loved the boutique feeling of the hotel. Everything was clean and the shower was great. Beds were super comfy. Breakfast was great with a great view. We were given a pickup breakfast when we had to leave early for the airport which was lovely. It was a ten minute walk into the main square which was nice because it meant we got to see the stunning views as we crossed the river.

United KingdomThe staff were very welcoming and helpful, especially Alessandra. The hotel was really charming with an interesting history and lovely artefacts. The breakfasts and dinners were fantastic served on a balcony overlooking the city & Misti volcano. The complementary pisco sours were really appreciated. The location was a short walk to all the main sites. We stayed in a lovely 1st floor room with a private terrace.

There is a restaurant associated with the hotel which is fantastic. We liked it better than the highest rated eating spots in town. Our room was great with a large balcony overlooking the city center.

United KingdomInternet is a bit slow and not suitable in case you need to do some work. However, if this is just for leisure it would be sufficient.

United StatesOne of the rooms, I believe it was Ampato, had a balcony facing the street, and it sometimes got a little noisy in the morning. Ubinas had a balcony with a great view of Misti, but it was around $26 more.
Great location, about. a 5-10 minute walk to the Plaza de Armas. We slept in two rooms, Ampato and Ubinas (with a trip to Colco Canyon in-between). In both rooms the bed was huge, big enough for a thruple, and really comfortable, firm but not too firm, with nice cotton sheets. Both bathrooms were very modern and looked new, with plenty of hot water. Good wifi too, which in my experience isn't that common in Peru. The place is built around a lovely sillar-walled courtyard (second photo), and the breakfast area is outdoors, with a great view of Misti volcano (first photo). Nice version of the typical Peruvian hotel breakfast: eggs freshly scrambled (or fried), cold cut ham, black olives, tomatoes, avocado slices, fresh fruit, yogurt, warm bread, good coffee, and warm water for your tea or coca leaves.

GermanyNothing. It is not directly in the historic City Center but very close by (5min walk to plaza de Armas) which makes it a bit more quiet which we absolutely liked as well. Also, that makes it a good middle spot between the historic Center and Yanahuara.
We loved the cosy but well-equipped style as the perfect mixture of traditional building and modern comforts. The staff was amazing and helped with everything from tours to early check-in and late check-out. The breakfast is also very good - we absolutely recommend staying here.

AustraliaThe breakfast was good - fresh bread, eggs, avocado, amazing fruit bowls and fresh juice. The staff were very helpful and accomodating - all our extra requests (storing luggage, using the restaurant space for an online meeting after we checked out etc) were accommodated and the room was super comfortable - large comfy bed and good bedding and excellent shower, all in the context of a beautiful environment. Just across the river and a short walk to the Plaza de Armas, the location worked well for us.

United StatesNot sure if it was due to the season but it was a little bit dusty- every time we closed the door we noticed some dust falling down from the ceiling or walls.
The breakfast offered was incredible (fresh squeezed juice, fresh bread, fruits, eggs, avocados, ham, and cheese spread) and the staff were lovely! Special thanks to Alejandra for making us feel so welcomed and bringing us a crib for our 2-year-old even though we didn't ask for one.
