Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FinlandThe location was great. The hotel is in the middle of the historical town of Nizwa in a really old buiding. It is very nicely renowated to look authenthic, yet comfortable. Someone helped us to find a parking near the hotel, otherwise it would have been tricky. Of course, there is always the option of parking at the souq parking area not so far away. All the places of interest in Nizwa were at walking distance. It was quiet at night.

United StatesThe arrangement is a little funky. It’s a very small hotel - 4 rooms. Ours came with a private bathroom outside the room, but the sink was in a common area with a sink for the other rooms so I wouldn’t consider that “private”. The shower/toilet room was so small that you could not change your clothes in there after showering without getting them wet. The optional breakfast is expensive and didn’t taste that good. If your room faces the street, you will hear the conversations of people passing by.
Good location for seeing nizwa’s old town. Attractive rooms in a traditional Omani building. There is a nice roof seating area though it was mostly too hot for us to enjoy it.

BelgiumIf we really have to say something, the bathroom is private but you still share sink with other so better keep in mind that you can meet someone on your way to the shower. But it was really not a big issue
The room was small but cute, there was no need for more. There is a really good vibe in the hotel room as well as on the rooftop. Breakfast is 1 minute by foot and you can eat on a beautiful terrace a good homemade breakfast

CroatiaWe came by car and to be honest, it was quite difficult to figure out how to get to our designated parking lot. Thankfully, we managed to get directions from the guest house staff, but I advise you to write to them and ask where to park before your arrival. Another, maybe more important issue is that, although there are two showers on the ground floor there, they are a) combined with the toilets, b)the space is cramped so it is not really super convenient. However, everything was very clean and we enjoyed our stay. Those were all minor issues that I wanted to point out not because it made our stay unpleasant but just FYI sorta.
A very nice and picturesque guest house in the heart of the old town of Nizwa. The guest house features an amazing common area on the roof and is very thoughtfully decorated. There is a common fridge on the ground floor and two shared bathrooms. Each room had sockets and wifi was working perfectly. All the historic sights of the old city are within walking distance. We were also very warmly received by the guest house staff!

GermanyNothing to complain. A small side note: we got the massage to come to a different reception of another hotel, but it’s an old information, just go straight to the real accommodation.
Nice rooftop terrace with shadow. The room was in a very authentic clay house design but very small.

OmanNo parking available in the premises. You can park your vehicle inside the Nizwa Souq or opposite to the Souq at the public parking lot. That's quite far from the hotel if you have a heavy luggage. The hotel is an authentic old town home but has no private bathroom/toilets. There is only a common one to be shared with 2 or 3 rooms.
Beautiful old town authentic room.

LuxembourgThe listing for this accommodation says that "it is possible to park at the property". Well, this is a lie. We were offered help with finding parking, but it certainly wasn't at the property, and not particularly close either (but it was close to the reception). On the subject of reception, it's important to note that it is separate from where your actual room is. It is one reception handling three separate properties, and it is located at one of the other two (a few streets away). Another thing might be something we overlooked when making the reservation, but we stayed for two nights, and there was no housekeeping/tidying in our room during our stay. Lastly, just something to note, and I know this at least partially depends on the configuration of the house, but our bathroom was a "wet bathroom", where basically the whole room (including the toilet and the sink) gets wet when you take a shower.
We loved the experience of staying at an old authentic house. The room was small, but charming. The top floor terrace is great to chill on in the afternoon and evening (but be warned, the mosquitoes are hungry!). The location is fantastic, in the old part of town, excellent for exploring the town on foot, with many interesting sites and cafés only a nice stroll away. The staff was friendly and helpful.

United StatesThe room was very small, they only have shared bathrooms, the shower and the toilet are in the same room. You literally take a shower next to the toilet where all guests do their daily needs. The only guy we interacted with to get our key barely spoke English and he was nowhere to be found when we arrived. We had to wait on the street for a long time before getting our key.
The guesthouse is very charming and perfect for the location and if you are looking for an unusual local experience. You are literally sleeping in an adobe. Everything was cute, inside and outside. and you are in the very center of the old city.

GermanyParking in old town is more than a challenge if you come on Thursday for the market on Friday. Better to keep the car at the bis souq parking and walk (around 10 minutes). Room does not have windows.

AustraliaThis is a beautiful, traditional building so you can really experience the history of Nizwa, with the modern convenience of air con and WiFi! The staff were so helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was at their sister hotel and it was really good. The beds are comfortable and the streets are so quiet at night.
