Nothing really. I knew the driveway was steep but parking was easy enough and we have no mobility issues so there weren’t any issues for us with access.

Clean, warm, super handy to town so could get everywhere I needed to on foot.

The house was in great conditions, the rooms and restrooms very cleaned (of course some residents did not leave the restroom as cleaned after used but the next day they were cleaned again, thank you :) ) Kitchen great, the common room super nice too, very quiet and great conditions overall the accommodation.

A mid winter stay in a cosy room with a view over the city to the Harbour, easy self check in, comfy bed, desk, armchair, and a shower just across the hall, ticked all the boxes for me. Having read the reviews about the steep driveway, I parked on Cargill street and enjoyed my cardio several times during my stay. While I didn't use the communal kitchen or lounge, both looked very well set up. Being winter, the hallways and shared areas were cold, but I was comfy and warm in my wee room and would return here again in future. In my mid 70s, I enjoy any opportunity to stay fit, and a hill walk up from the city plus that driveway worked for me.

The walls are not soundproof. My room was close to the kitchen, and some guests used it after 10 p.m., while the washing machine was run very early in the morning—both of which were a bit annoying. I could also clearly hear my neighbor listening to an audiobook. That said, everything else about the stay was great. Overall, I had a very positive experience.

The breakfast was great with a variety of cereals to choose from.

I booked Work Stay 123 at the last minute to come to Dunedin for the All Blacks game. I originally thought I had an ensuite room because of how the rooms were described at the time of booking as "private bathroom". It was only after I booked and looked at the itinerary that it was made clear that only a couple of rooms were ensuite. While initially disappointed the shared bathrooms and toilets were great. Each room had 2 allocated to it, it was close by to my room and the facilities were always exceptionally clean. My room had a fridge, microwave, jug, bins, a desk and chair, comfy chair, TV, a bed which was super comfortable. The heating in the room and the thick comfort really made the room cosy for my weekend stay. Work Stay 123 in the end was perfect for my short weekend in Dunedin. Easy walk down the hill into the main mall area. I can't speak highly enough about the comfort and cleanliness of this accommodation. It was obviously fully booked but I barely heard anyone else in the house, nor did I see anyone all weekend. My room had a great view of the city skyline. The shared laundry had ironing facilities, which also came in handy. The surprise of a shared kitchen with complimentary continental breakfast options was also amazing. It's more of a hostel / B&B vibe. The self check-in and check-out was super easy. The communication was great with all my questions about flying in later than expected. So if you're just looking for somewhere comfortable, safe, and convenient, definitely would recommend this place.

My room didn't have a view like I'd anitipated it would. Will book that room next time. No free to air tv or pay tv. Could however link to my Netflix account. It was steep walk back from the city centre.

Lovely building. Quiet. Friendly staff. Close to Speight's Brew House.

The bathroom – it felt cold and draughty due to the glass ventilation window.

Very comfortable and convenient stay, lovely view over the city. The room was well-equipped, with a fully functional kitchenette and a large, brand-new fridge. The bed was very comfy. Easy check-in and -out.

A little unsure that I was in the right place, at first arrival. A WorkStay sign at street level would be ideal - instead, there is a sign to another property up the same driveway, which is what made me initially uncertain. There is a sign part-way up the driveway though.

I've stayed in more costly hotels that didn't offer half as much as WorkStay does! In my room: a microwave, decent fridge, heater, fan, draw of useful cutlery and kitchen items, cupboard with mugs, glasses, plates and breakfast bowl - and there were plenty more available in the kitchen downstairs. This exceptionally tidy kitchen also had help-yourself breakfast foods - cereal, spreads, tea, coffee. (I was there a couple of days before I discovered this!) There were piles of fresh towels in the hall, and a small laundry where I could also wash my dishes upstairs if I wanted: tea-towels, detergent etc. My small room was very pleasant with an amazing view over the city - speaking of which, the Octagon area was only 10 minutes walk away. There were small signs of comfort and homeliness throughout the building. The room came with shared bathroom access, which I didn't mind, having done much backpacking in my past. The nearby showers and toilets were clean with plenty of hot water. Maybe I was there at a quiet time, but I never had to wait to use any of them! It's clear that the owners take pride in the place and have thought of the small details that make for a comfortable and convenient stay. The on-site manager was lovely and cheerfully helped with my enquiries. (And finally, thanks to the previous occupant of my room who forgot to sign out of her Netflix account on the room's TV!)

No private sink to brush teeth downstairs, just the one in the hall but not a big deal with the shower there. Maybe there was a sink in the second bathroom downstairs, it was engaged at the time I needed so I can't comment on that

Great set up, in the room and the kitchen, lounge etc- felt like an adult's hostel. The toiletries and breakfast available were great. The kitchenette in the room was well stocked, good size room. Quiet environment, on street parking was always available for us

There are quite a few rooms using the one toilet and it was annoying have people trying to enter or knocking on the door. However, there were two showers right outside my door, so no problems there.

Ten minute walk to town and stunning views so the walk back up the hill is worth it. Lovely old house tastefully furnished and everything available that you could want.
