Location was excellent. Key was waiting for us upon arrival, and the key box made our early AM departure easy as well. Laundry facilities were perfect and kitchen was nicely appointed.

The bedroom door only just cleared the bed making it tricky to get around. This property is an older style motel kept very clean and tidy. The bathroom is definitely dated but quite adequate. It was very hot when we were in Wanaka and that meant the rooms overheated very quickly. There is a heatpump/ aircon but we found ourselves either stifling hot or too chilly with the aircon on.

It was central to Wanaka town centre. We had the front unit which looked out across the green space to the lake, so nice view. It was spacious enough for 2 of us.

It was expensive for what it was. There wasn't any cooking oil or a french press or similar to make coffee in the kitchen, but we did have our own. The bins didn't have bin bags in them and there was no compost bin. We felt bad putting food scraps directly into the bin with no bag.

The location was amazing with a really nice view of the lake (when a big car wasn't parked in front of our window!) and walking distance to the lake and town. Plenty of parking. The bed was super comfy and the apartment was warm / cool when we needed it to be. The kitchen had almost everything we needed. We self-catered a lot so we could eat at the table with the view. Pip the host was so friendly and gave us amazing recommendations both for Wanaka and for our next stop in Queenstown. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

By the photos it looked like we had a good view. Since photos taken trees have grown. Also the room was crowded with larger furniture since photos taken as well. New photos need to be taken to represent the property correctly. There was no contact with staff at all.

It was in a good location making accessing the main area near the lake easy.

We didn't see a single staff person during our stay there. There was a notice on the door where to find the key and a contact phone number in case there were issues. We didn't have any issues but we found it a bit weird that there was nobody around, not even for check in. For the basement studio, you have to know that the guest laundry is right next to it, and you hear the washer and dryer clearly through the wall. The laundry hours are very reasonable, and we were lucky that the other guests were fairly respectful and didn't go over the allowed time for too long. There is also someone living above the basement studio, and you can hear them walking around clearly. Not that they were stomping or anything, it's just the way the house is built. Just something to be aware of, I sleep with ear plugs anyway, so wasn't bothered by that but someone might. We would still book again, just mentioning the small issues for completeness.

We spent one night in the basement studio and it had all we needed. Private, clean bathroom, sitting area, small dining table etc. We knew we wouldn't have a view, the room is exactly as advertised on the website, and if you are just looking for a clean, comfortable place to sleep and shower, it does the job. It is located just outside the busy downtown area but within walking distance.
