Squishy pillows, no extra bedding for cold night so had to run heater. No power socket by bed.

The element on the stove top oven was only going to one temperature which was really high could be an easy fix by an electrician just keep an eye out for your food cooking. The fan in the bathroom did not work and resulted in the entire room needing to be aired out to avoid dampness and moisture during the night. The tiles around the spa were a bit out dated but did not affect spa use and we still thoroughly enjoyed our entire stay.

Felt very welcomed upon arrival, lovely staff. Situated in a great location, close to the local park, pools and just a few minutes to the supermarkets, kids thoroughly enjoyed the spa and separate quiet space upstairs for them to enjoy, the room was really warm and comfortable. We made use of the kitchen facilities and our family really enjoyed our 2 day stay here. Would definitely come again!

I loved the place...the spa bath was a little aged, shower pressure is average. The beds down stairs were OK, but the top bed had a firm area in the centre. Nothing that would stop me going back though

Owners are amazing!! Great attitude, very welcoming and positive! Lovely cosy unit with everything we needed. Very child friendly and right over the road from the Esplanade which is a child's dream...also great big you love walkhng/running/biking. Highly recommend!

We couldn't lock the front windows in our particular room as one of the latches was broken. The room could use some small updates, otherwise a decent stay for one night.

We thought the location was great. The staff were very friendly and nice.

Shower control was broken and keep falling off even though we had been told about it and tried to be careful with it. It also looked like it had been faulty for a while as there were a lot of marks where it had fallen onto the tiles. It needs to be repaired or replaced.

It would have benefitted from an information booklet which is usual in NZ motels, and a better choice of TV channels. The 50 Sky channels motels like to say they have are often poor, with religious programming, cheap and nasty lifestyle channels, one-hour delays of free to air channels etc etc.

The fan was great as it was hot and the studio was very large and spacious and well away from the road and quiet.

The towel rail in the bathroom needs fixing. I was in the accessible unit and there is need for space. I would like a better way to store clothing in the room.

A little dated , and a musty smell at first. But as it was so comfortable we enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

It was a very quiet motel, we had an excellent sleep both nights there. Had a spa bath which was great.

Hosts were amazing; very friendly and helpful when we had an additional guest at the last minute. The unit was really spacious. Great spot opposite the gardens and for river walk. Close to town when driving.

Motel agreed to early arrival at 12pm but no one was in reception when I arrived and also no answer to the external intercom phone provided during such absences. I therefore was forced to return later at 1:30pm to eventually find someone to let me in. The WiFi signal was half-strength in my allocated room so websites kept disconnecting due to "poor signal/reception". This needs to be improved as free WiFi is advertised and people expect the facility to be working properly. No milk provided or available at reception c.f. many other similar motels in NZ.
