The only thing that could have made it better is a couch big enough for two people to lounge and relax in, instead of chairs.

Wonderful peaceful private location, it had close to nature vibe that was very healing.

Okay, I'm not sure if it's mentioned in the fine print but the toilet is kind of like a long drop.. but it isn't as bad as it sounds, and this is not worth not booking.

I really liked the feel of the place, so peaceful, has everything you need, spacious and inviting. There is no power in the area we stayed but there is a place to charge your phone not to far away

If there were just a lot more candles and lamps that would’ve been great. We loved the idea of no electricity, but the head lamps dimmed pretty quickly and there were only a few candles. We would’ve loved to be able to light up the walk ways with some candles it would’ve been so magical. But was still really amazing and great value for money.

Really different experience, very peaceful and relaxing. Lovely host, introduced at the start but didn’t intrude on the seclusion of the stay.

What isn’t there to like about this property? Very private, an amazing mixture of back to basics and aesthetic design, bush walks or even hunting possible from here. A real getaway!

I love the location it was so beautiful! The bath was so so amazing and relaxing. The property is not far from town so you can drive in and check out the shops and grab a coffee or food. I highly recommend staying here.

I wasn't aware it was on someone's property so that kind of threw me off, nevertheless that was no issue at all! Really appreciated the enviroment.

It was such a homely feel! Really enjoyed disconnecting from the world and just having downtime to chill out. ABSOLUTELY LOVED the outdoor kitchen area AND bath house! What a beautiful place :)

Mozzys :( may want to consider netting for windows. Left open during night and woke up to a thousand lil mozzys and i felt cruel for spraying them lol.

Friendly host welcomed us to the property. Enjoyed the off grid experience. Amazing natural products available for use, i regret not checking out the boutique. A real beauty to be able to wake up to such fresh air and singing birds, also heard a ruru (owl) during the night.

I SO wanted to love this property, and I'd booked two nights with the aim of experiencing some time out with peace and quiet, which is increasingly difficult to find these days. I'd gone off reviews which talked about "tranquillity", "serenity" and how "magic" The kauri Tree Pod was. So I was totally unprepared for the noise: how ironic that, at an off-grid place, I should be bothered by the constant drone of a nearby electric fan motor. This noise permeated the entire compound, even the walls of the sleeping cabin. The grating sound cut through the bird song and wind in the leaves. The bath, with it's view of trees and ferns was divine, but I abandoned the idea of taking advantage of it as the backdrop of constant humming wouldn't enable me to enjoy it. My plan had been to chill out at the place but I ended up spending hours in the Levin township as a break. I'd paid a premium for being "away from it all" only to pay a lot of money to subject myself to sound that is a form of torture for me. Hence my deep disappointment.

Visually, the property was stunning and full of promise: green, natural surroundings, and a lot of care had been taken with creating the facilities. It is also not far from Levin - though felt a world away - and just up the road from the Greek Monastery which was definitely worth checking out.
