Our rooms were on the other side of the dining room to the bathrooms, so some people had to walk past the kitchen for their personal time. Not a big issue, and would still go back there next time.

Lots of rooms so plenty of space. Warm and cozy even though it was ice outside. Big kitchen and dining room area shared by guests. We had a large group, and there were 2 other groups there but plenty of space and showers for everyone! About 25min from the base of the mountain for going skiing.

With such a well equipped kitchen ( modern fridges , air fryer, sandwich press, rice cooker etc), it was surprising there was only one kettle in the kitchen for boiling water. Men of our party reported less than perfect men's bathroom, but the women's was pristine! 😉Can't comment on the staff as we didn't have any contact with them that we are aware of! (Maybe some of the other guests were staff)

This was an intriguing place to stay , it felt like an adventure! Extremely well organised from a tech point of view. We appreciated all the groovy decor extras and lots of thoughtful touches everywhere. Very easy place to stay overnight (we arrived at approx 9.45pm). Clean.

They require more toasters. It was very busy at times and queues to equipment. Especially as one was only partially working. Also more tea towels (ran out constantly) and rubbish facilities, or more regular emptying. On the Sunday morning the bins were all overflowing. Nowhere to put further rubbish and a little unhygienic as a result. We have found on arrival our room was a welcoming comfortable temperature. However, in the 2nd day/night the temperature in the room dropped significantly and we appeared to have no heating in the room.

The facility was great overall. The children felt very comfortable and at home. They loved the 'Narnia Wardrobe' entrance to the movie room!! A lovely touch. The checkin was a simple process, and the facility appeared clean and well organised. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would return in the future. Thank you!

The heating was wayyy to strong, smelly and impossible to shut down to a reasonable level even by playing with the grid on the ground. It was impossible to sleep on the top beds. And as there is no one at the reception there is just NO WAY of solving the problem. This is a major issue as a good night of sleep is the essential thing people go there to get. The rest of the facility is pretty exceptional, certainly for the price.

We arrived on Intercity Bus and walked to this hostel which was about an hour from the National Park. We knew this before booking and it wasn't an issue. We really enjoyed this place because it was spacious, had a cozy feel, the pool table in the lounge was awesome and the secret Narnia tv room was cool. We found it clean and met the owner which was nice. We did the Tongariro Crossing and it was too far to walk to so the owner suggested Dempsey Bus service and it worked out great! They picked us up and dropped us off back at the hostel. For the price you can't beat this place.

The walls were really thin so you could here everything any time anyone else talked or moved. Check in information was sent the day after we checked in, it was relatively easy, but would have been nice to have the information ahead of time.

Clean. Felt safe. Smaller room, but great for the price. Easy parking. Had blanket and pillow, no towel (which was fine but hard to find that information on the site). Electronic code to get in to doors to outside and room.

Check-in wasn’t easy without any assistance or receptionist; it was done using a screen and a code.

The lodge was spacious, and there was a good atmosphere among the guests. There was a large kitchen and a clean bathroom. The room was a bit small — suitable for just one night.
