Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. New and really clean house. High-quality kitchenware, nice wine glasses, coffee mugs, etc. I enjoyed the artistic pieces and attention to detail staying here. It feels modern, with homely cozy touches. Hosts are easy to get in connact with and are helpful and friendly. A great find for a good-sized B&B in central New Plymouth.

Nothing. If I had to be picky, the parking is quite 'snug' for two cars, but you can use the garage for one vehicle and park the other one in front of the garage. All good :)
Very large house with extensive kitchen facilities, combined dining and lounge with extra separate TV lounge, great laundry and office space if needed. Upstairs, 3 large bedrooms, master with ensuite plus a small lounge area. Beautiful linen and bedding, modern bathrooms with walk in showers in both. Great outdoor eating space. Good location with short walk to join the waterfront walkway into the city, approx 15-minute walk. No views of the sea from the property but a 5 minute walk can fix that!

The house is huge, yes only 2 of us stayed but would be more than enough space for 3 couples. The location is fantastic you can walk everywhere and enjoy everything that New Plymouth has to offer. So much space to relax and entertain and the large couches are ideal for a cozy cuddle.

The modern style of the home was great. Lots of living spaces to spread out and have your own place to relax. Bedrooms were big and lots of amenities. The location is perfect for access to the coastal walkway

It has everything we needed. The water is strong, kitchen is complete, there is a single garage, and 1 off street, beds are comfy and the house is warm. It has generous space for a large group.

There were no faults.
The house was exactly like the pictures, clean and beautifully styled. It had everything we needed and it was great having extra space to lounge in. The showers also had great water pressure. Location was perfect for us and being able to park right outside the door was fantastic.

Personally I'm not a fan of polished concrete floors or of the very large mugs, plates etc. With two grandchildren on holiday a few smaller, lighter crockery, glassware would be good but we managed very well.
The accommodation was as described. The location was very handy to the beach and walkway. The appliances were very modern and had everything you could have wanted. The no key access was easy to use. Heat pumps great and the huge beds very comfortable. Plenty of towels and toiletries. Excellent.

Perfect. A wonderful stay for our family group (grandparents, parents and 2 grandchildren). We especially liked the lounge which was a fantastic extra surprise. This modern townhouse is very new and spacious. I have to mention we all commented on how well we slept as so quiet, with very comfortable beds. An ideal stay for families as we enjoyed the different separation areas for TV or reading, and a couple would enjoy a luxury stay to have the whole place to themselves. Great location as close to town and beachfront. Even in winter Taranaki has so much to offer, walks, biking and galleries. It would certainly be a lovely stay in summer or winter.

Great location, easy walk to town for shopping and restaurants. Nice and close to the ocean walkway. The kitchen is very well equipped. Lovely linen and towels. Lots of space to relax. Good/easy communication with hosts.

Dirty fridge was not clean main bedroom was thick of dust on the window slates other bathroom was dirty and cover with dust kitchen draws on a the hole were dirty,Tv room down stairs empty chocolate wrappers on the sofa. Rubbish in the garage. Security camera at front door and not declare,not sure what was going on with that.
