All of the facilities, such as the bathrooms were very clean. The location was perfect for us as it was so close to the Abel Tasman walk. Lots of games available and hammocks, overall, the place had a very cool vibe.

The shower nearest the cabins had very disappointing water pressure, was barely useable. I expect the ones at the main house are better but all were in use.

We had an amazing stay here! Reasonably priced, great location & lovely little cabin. Staff were friendly, the kitchen was equipped and everyone else on site was friendly.

Lovely atmosphere and location, room was very clean, tidy and warm on arrival. They were very accommodating for our late check in, friendly staff and great recommendations for things to do nearby on further on our travel. Also had eggs to buy from their free range chickens on site which we loved!

Just a note for the establishment: Would be handy to have: - 2 pillows instead of one. - bedside lights so we can turn the main light off for people wanting to sleep & others read etc - hooks & shelves in rooms for bags/coats/clothes/phones/laptops etc. Really not great having to dump everything on the floor. There wasn’t a single place to put our belongings other than the floor - not really acceptable.

In a 4 bed dorm: Fab place. Cool chill out areas. Great kitchen facilities. Staff friendly and thorough with cleaning. Maintenance kept tip top. Comfy beds. Loved that is was single beds instead of bunk beds.

Gorgeous cabins with great view and good heating. Area itself is perfect for the Abel Tasman trail and the facilities were perfect. The summer kitchen even has a big open fire for the evenings, just make sure you bring your groceries with you. Would definitely recommend

The free wifi was limited and not sufficient for if you are doing remote work on a laptop. But if you are there purely for lesiure then embrace this!

Nothing. It was what was expected as a base before we hiked the Able Tasman.

It was what it said it was, a bunk room with bedding and towels supplied. There are 6 rooms like this around a centre courtyard. These rooms use the kitchen and communal bathroom of the camp ground which were good and fully stocked with everything you need in a kitchen. Short walk to the Park restaurant which was good. Friendly staff. Warm. Lovely park like grounds for camping, close to the beach. Probably a 10-15 min walk to Mārahau.

There was nothing to not like.

The response from the facility both before booking during our stay was exceptional. They gave us so much useful information and made booking "extras" a breeze. Went the extra mile when my daughter was not sure if she had locked her car when she went on hike. She rang and they checked for her. Could not rate it highly enough.

The vibes at The Barn are immaculate! We completely fell in love with the place - the views, the friendly staff, the wee cosy cabin room. It has everything you need and is kept beautifully clean. Their sustainability focus is fantastic and they cater to all kinds of travellers
