Overall we love staying here. Just suggest to have cleaning equipment for tables in the guest lounge, and maybe discard broken toys in the play area. Game room also need improvement most is broken as my kids love playing here.

We booked 2 ensuite rooms, which were basic but had queen sized beds and tea, coffee, kettle in the room. We used both the restaurant and the shared kitchen. The views and location were superb.

Not enough dining tables and chairs in the kitchen . The price for breakfast slightly to hight we thought. We had dinner there and chicken burgers were not cooked well. They did prepare us other burgers but it took a while, apologies for it. No discount given or free desert for mishap, would of been extra touch for long wait and uncooked food.

Very friendly staff, location great, clean. Facilities included a sauna, spa, games room and children area with toys. Beautiful views. We stayed at the end where they had a fully equipped kitchen for self cooking and plenty of utensils. They had equipment hire for snow activities in the basement which was great. There is a restaurant in the building that serves breakfast and dinner. Also a bar. Plenty of parking outside. We would come back here and recommend the place to others.

I thought Skotel was good value for money. They have a restaurant on the premises which is really convenient, or you can cook your own meals in the communal area. They have a stunning view of Mt Ngauruhoe.

When booking this room, I must admit I was skeptical if the view would be as good as it was pictured. Well, the view was even better. This skotel was so quaint, beautiful, peaceful, and everything I needed. My only regret was that I didn't stay longer. When I first arrived, there was a massive cloud hanging so you couldn't quite see much. Due to the rainy weather, I decided to stay in for the evening. With it being so cold out, the owners had the fireplace roaring. I cuddled up on their living area couch next to the fireplace, book in hand. Their lounge room has has wraparound windows which added to the vibe. When the bar opened it was even better because then I was able to enjoy the space more with a local ale while reading. This is a fun ski themed lodge that feels as if you took a time machine back to the 1980s. The food at the restaurant was a great addition!
