Room was extremely basic. There were no chargers by the beds. Everything felt a bit outdated. I felt the place could have been a bit more clean.

The staff was very friendly. The hostel is conveniently located in the center of Rotorua, near the shops and restaurants. The hostel is huge and provides lots of different areas to hang out. The room had a dresser which you could lock to keep your stuff.

Not many elements in kitchen worked properly; bathrooms really needed cleaning twice a day given the number of people using them; guests gathering in hallways meant noisy bedrooms.

The bathrooms were not really clean most of the time. It can get very noisy because walls seem to be very thin and you can hear everything happening on the floor etc.

Kitchen could use some VENTILATION!! It’s stuffy and humid when cooking takes place. Could use some fixing up, deep cleaning and investment beyond paints. Ugly uninviting rooms with doors that are so light weight and could use hydraulic arm to shut quietly. Paper thin walls — you can hear everything that goes on on your floor. Beyond a change of fresh bedsheet, bed frame could use some vacuuming.

Great location. Walkable to I-Site where there are some nice restaurants. Pak n Save (bug chain grocer) also close enough & walkable. Welcoming, helpful, chill and friendly staff. Big organized well-equipped kitchen.

Great hostel downtown Rotorua with anything you need in a walking distance, though you’ll need a car for the main geothermal attractions. The bed was comfy and the bathroom really clean and convenient (hair dryer and hair straightener available in the girls bathroom !) Easy check in and check out even after reception hours with a code sent by email and a key box. The only thing is that walls were pretty thin and the girls in the dorm next to us were super loud (not the hostel fault tho). Would def recommend as a solo backpacker, especially with the girls only dorms !

Unfortunately the cleanliness is not always great. My bedsheets smelled and the men's bathroom was gross, with mold growing in the corners and under the mats.

The staff is super friendly and helpful and the services are just great. They offer discounts on several activities in Rotorua and there are a cinema and a climbing gym inside the facility. The kitchen is very well equipped and the beds are comfortable. The hostel is located downtown, close to a lot of attractions, and the prices are quite low.

There was no hand towel in our bathroom and only basic soap in the shower (I know this is to be expected in hostels but in others we have stayed at we’ve had nicer toiletries). But these are minor and we had a great stay so would recommend!

Super comfy bed and nice room (we had a private en-suite). Good location with free parking right outside on the weekend. We enjoyed the pool table and table tennis in reception too!

The kitchen has no windows and it's hard to air out. All the smell from cooking moves to the halls.

Was better than the other backpacker places I stayed at. Cleaner and quieter, the other guests were not loud. Loved the lounge on top floor, great spot to hang out.

The kitchen was consistently unclean, despite signs everywhere reminding people to keep it tidy. The sink was always filled with leftover food, and the tables were often dirty with food crumbs, spills, and other messes 😪
