I visited in the quiet season and if I was in the kitchen at the same time as even four others finding space was tricky. It was hard to work out hot and cold directions on the shower handle and there was not a lot of space to dress next to the shower. The heater in my cabin did not heat the room particularly well, though it did make a noticable difference.

Peaceful, natural location. Chance to roast marshmallows on the firepit. Helpful staff. Adequate facilities and a comfortable bed at a reasonable price.

We were pleasantly surprised by this lovely accommodation on the waters of Lake Manapouri. A beautiful surrounding area of bush, lake and grounds. Our cottage was quirkily retro in a nice way with good space, well kitted out kitchen. Great lakeside walks from the accommodation through lovely bush. Easy 5 minute walk to meet up with the Doubtful Sound tour experience - which was amazing in itself Henry was really friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay here as part of our explore of South Island

The cabin was bit smelly, like smell from moisture.

You need more/better toilets and showers. There are simply not enough and they are old and a bit manky.

Honestly the sandflies made it a bit irritating but that is nothing against the property. The first night was spectacular. The second some of the guests were gross and loud. Peeing on toilet seats, slamming doors, etc. Once again nothing against the property just depends who the guests are.

It was very comfortable. The staff was great. Comfortable beds and blankets. The room was great and property was nice. Ping ping table was awesome. Lovely kitchen.

At the end of the day, the bathroom were so disgusting,probably because there are so few for the amount of guests Too crowded with so many campervans everywhere

Liked it all. We were warned about sandflies but didn’t see any - it was unusually hot.

Perfect location next to Lake Manapouri with short walks through forest and a nice beach to swim. Great location to get to Milford Sound (still a 2 hour drive though). It’s not super luxurious but the price reflects that. Everything you need is supplied and the shower had a good supply of hot water.

Beautiful location, just by the beach and near Te Anau. The rooms are cozy and shared spaces are well kept with everything you need, from showers to lounge, kitchen, a place to do bbq and even a ping pong table.

Can't think of anything I didn't like.

Loved the understated, relaxed, friendly and welcoming feel. The staff/owners have created a great sense of community. There are numerous communal spaces. Location was great too. Staff are knowledgeable, fellow travellers were lovely. The simple and old worldliness made for complete relaxation.

Lack of cleaning in the shower.

Wonderful location, lake view, and doubtful sound cruiser accessibile by feet. Quiet place.
