Couldn’t find a fault.

This little B&B is a little gem. John and Ping were exceptionally hospitable from arrival to departure. They were helpful with information relating to meals and airport transport and both got up at a very early hour to give us a delightful continental breakfast and say goodbye the morning we left.

Our stay at Olive House Bed and Breakfast was exceptional, thanks to the warm and welcoming hosts, John and Ping. They truly made us feel like we were staying with family, and their hospitality was unmatched. The accommodations were outstanding, offering a spacious and beautifully decorated space. We had two separate bedrooms with queen-sized beds, separated by a large private bathroom – all spotlessly clean and well-equipped. The house is tastefully decorated, featuring artwork, including pieces by the hosts themselves. We especially loved the charming outdoor garden and patio area, which made for a peaceful retreat. The neighborhood is safe and quiet, with easy street parking available. John's local recommendations were incredibly helpful, and we appreciated how John & Ping took our dietary restrictions into consideration for breakfast. We were also treated to great conversation, making our stay feel more like visiting close friends. Also enjoyed cuddling with their cute puppy :-) Olive House is conveniently located, just a short drive from Christchurch International Airport, making it ideal for those traveling in and out of the city. The hosts provided everything we needed, ensuring we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Sadly, we only had the pleasure of staying for one night. We would absolutely return and highly recommend this wonderful B&B to anyone visiting Christchurch. The fantastic value for money, along with the exceptional service, made it one of the most memorable parts of our trip. Thank you, John and Ping – we hope our paths cross again someday!

We felt bad that the hosts had to wait for us to return to let us into the house. We weren't going to stay out late, but if we did, we wouldn't want to affect their sleep schedules for this even though they said they are okay with it.

We loved our stay. The hosts were so sweet, welcoming, and accommodating, especially when our arrival time for check in kept changing due to unexpected plans. Unlike most B&Bs, we weren't given a key to the house or our room. But, what this meant was that the hosts would wait for us to come home every day, which I've never seen anyone do before. They have a very cute dog and provided us with a lovely breakfast. They are so accommodating with what time you want breakfast (fruit, cereal, juice, yogurt, bread, spread, coffee/tea). They took time to make sure we were full and our dietary needs were met. We both enjoyed having conversations with the hosts, learning more about them and sharing more about ourselves. They've been doing this for over 17 years, and you can tell that they don't do it for the money. They do it for the experience, and they really make you feel at home. They only ever have one party staying at a time. So, even though we booked just a single room, we were provided with a room, large bathroom, and an additional bedroom that we could use as a storage room, which was definitely a pleasant surprise. Hosts also provided great recommendations for what to do in the city and handed us a map of the town. The rooms were comfortable, well heated, and they provided us with a kettle, coffee/tea, and fridge for our personal use (located within the bathroom). The neighborhood is safe and quite. Street parking is easy. And if you are going to or coming from the airport, it's located quite close.

John and Ping are incredible hosts. They made us feel like our own home. John's knowledge of Christchurch and surroundings allows us enjoy the trip even more. The house is absolutely clean. I recommend this place for guest who wants to visit Christchurch.

Unfortunately, the back bedroom's heater was a bit too small on these cool nights. Yes, it took the chill off but not heating up the room like the other bedroom.

Beds were comfortable and rooms separated which was excellent. Breakfast was superbly done. Host wonderful including little Lucy. Very homely and cosy. Tidy and clean.

A wonderful reception from the fantastic hosts. It was a great place to spend the night, with good facilities in a really lovely home, shared with the hosts. We were provided with everything necessary and with abundant information and recommendations. In the morning, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast. Fantastic value for money, too.

Everything was great the amenities were good . Didn't get to make use of the bath. Something we don't have where we live.

John and his wife were friendly and really helpful. They waited for us much later than originally planned due to our flight delay.
