The place is very comfortable, clean, and spacious. It had everything we needed. The bedroom, shower, and bathroom are in a separate area, which made it really convenient for us.

A perfect overnight stay before heading onto the Humpridge Track for an 8.00 a.m. start in Tuatapere. The host very was considerate and helpful throughout, providing extra space for re-assembling tramping packs, storing fresh food temporarily, and ensuring we had a covered area for loading our car in the morning.

Staying at Gail's place is like staying with your favourite auntie. We had our own wing with bedroom and bathroom and were also able to share her kitchen when we ate in one night. Gail gave us tips of local things to see and do. We got a load of washing done and she had even brought it in for us when we arrived back late from exploring the totara forest. A great breakfast was provided each day. Really friendly host.

This place was exactly what we needed after our Humpridge Track walk. Comfortable bed, private bathroom, great breakfast, and foremost, lovely host. Please be aware that the kitchen is shared with the host. She's an extremely pleasant lady who did everything to come our way. Would definitely recommend.

We enjoyed the breakfast which showcased Tuatapere honey otherwise was a typical continental breakfast presented well. Tuatapere is a small town so location was fine. Gail was an excellent host and made you feel very at home. She was so helpful (boiling eggs for me and also providing us with an extra room to sort out our luggage and giving us more information about our walk). The private bathroom was appreciated.

Lovely home in Tuatapere. Perfect for walking the Hump Ridge Track. Great breakfast provided, despite our very early start! Host even helped to book us in for dinner at the Last Light Lodge, which was brilliant.

Wish we could have stayed for 2 nights in order to take in the Annual Show on 11 Feb which we just missed and after talking to a local girl we felt it would have added to our experience of the ‘real’ New Zealand.

Granola was good quality & available with fruit. Tea and toast to finish sustained us very well. The good sized hot water shower was very refreshing. Gail made us very welcome and was good company. The area was very quiet and felt safe and the locals happy to chat without being intrusive. The walk around the neighbourhood and town was a pleasant way to spend some time. The domain walk along the river and woodland had fantails in abundance and a stick insect lingered on the roses in the Main St. which was an unexpected treat for nature lovers.
