Juliet and David were wonderful hosts! They bent over backwards to meet our needs and had great suggestions for seeing the area around Queenstown. The river below the lodge was a bonus.

Juliet and David were great hosts with great facilities. Great size rooms with heated bathrooms. Awesome lounge area for that evening wine in front of the gas fireplace. Best breakfast with great coffee Would definitely recommend it.

Lovely host Juliet. Complimentary breakfast was great. Hot tub was great. Quiet spot. Might pay to get a 4wd if going up windy driveway to the lodge as was a bit skiddy for us in a qashqai.

There was nothing we didn't like during our two night stay.

Juliet & David were excellent hosts. The lodge and surrounding gardens and outdoor areas are lovely and the scenery is spectacular. Good access to the Shotover River and several walks, and we enjoyed being a little bit away from the hustle and bustle of Queenstown (especially over the Easter long weekend). It also provides good access to Arrowtown. Our room was large, nicely appointed and very comfortable. The daily breakfast was outstanding.

Juliet & David were excellent hosts. The lodge and surrounding gardens and outdoor areas are lovely and the scenery is spectacular. The breakfast was exceptional! The location was quiet and very scenic. Our hosts David and Juliet were super nice and accomodating, we felt very comfortable. The one regret we have is that we only stayed one night :)

The unpaved driveway could do with some smoothing out and repairs but don't let it put you off, we were just a bit unprepared for it when we first arrived but our small SUV hire car managed to get up and down OK by taking it slowly.

The best accommodation that we stayed in and a lovely luxurious end to our 4 week road trip in NZ, very well located between Queenstown and Arrowtown with a great view down to the river from the lookout in the garden The suite was very spacious with high quality furnishings and a most comfortable large bed. Juliet and David made us extremely welcome and the homemade breakfast was perfect. Booking the outdoor hot tub late in the evening with a glass of wine looking up at the stars is highly recommended! We're hoping to go back to beautiful NZ again next year and if we stay anywhere in this area we will have no hesitation booking ourselves into Moonlight Escape Lodge again.

We absolutely loved our stay at Moonlight Escape. Juliet and David were fantastic hosts. Our room was huge with 2 sofas, 2 easy chairs and a large comfortable bed. There is also a guest lounge/dining room. The whole place is tastefully furnished. Juliet served delicious cooked breakfasts each morning, followed by home baked banana bread. She really looked after us well. The views from the property are amazing and it is set in a beautiful position above the Shotover river. It was great to get back to the peaceful location after a day in the bustling town of Queensland which is only a 10 minute drive away.

Room was comfortable, generously sized, and the views from the property overlooking the river were great. The breakfast was listed as continental but that description very much undersold the delicious food we were served. A great base for nipping over to Queenstown and Arrowtown. Great hosts.

A beautiful place to stay overlooking the Stopover River. Tranquil and quiet up a 800M driveway to the property amongst the forest of trees. The hosts were a lovely couple who always appeared approachable, friendly and informative. Juliet's breakfasts were lovely! The hot tub was delightful.

We felt very welcome in a beautiful house/room. Fantastic location with peace and view. Close to restaurant and Queenstown. Breakfast was delicious. We got a lot of help, when we needed contact with previous accommodation. Juliet and David get our highest recommendation.

One of the best stays I've had from booking.com. Moonlight escape was absolutely magical. Stunning views, delicious breakfast, super comfy beds, spacious room and a great hot tub. Juliet and David absolutely exceeded expectations. I would highly, highly recommend moonlight escape!!

The drive is quite steep we had an AWD vehicle and it struggled at one point. Not sure if that was just us being unfamiliar in how to approach the driveway.

Beautiful property in beautiful quiet surroundings. Warm welcome fabulous large room and lovely home cooked breakfast. Comfortable bed and lots of space to sit and read.
