We were unaware that we were to be the only guests and that there would be nobody to meet us on arrival. Eventually we were contacted and our key was given to us. The age and condition of the units were not as depicted on the website, being rather old and tired

The location was ideal. The staff went out of their way to look after their sole guests. We were able to leave our car safely on the premises for the week we were out of contact in Fiordland. For an old motel it was comfortable enough for our one night stay.

I would strongly recommend (all) motels to invest in a cheap uv torch to show where the cleaners need to clean up after (some) guests.

I’d class this as a standard two star seventies motel. Wifi not great. No dishes - microwave “for reheating only”. Excellent location though. Across the road from the lake. Good to only have to drive a few minutes after the Doubtful Sound cruise.

Restaurant / bar was permanently closed, kitchen was clean but didnt have much of an offering. We ate heated up meals with spoons as there were no forks

Needs an update, furniture old and shabby. Shower flooded, toilet cistern not filling, had to fill it ourselves. Would never stay there again. Had to wait in the foyer for nearly an hour before staff came back from lunch. Was all left open and unattended,

I don't mind the facilities being old, but they do have to be clean and fit for purpose. The room and particularly the bathroom could do with a thorough clean, and the shower did not drain well so the floor stayed wet. The bed was OK but the sofa (pull out bed) was seriously dreadful to sit on. The TV had 2 channels, but it did not work when it rained, and the lighting was remarkably dim. The price was high for what was provided.

It was well placed. The staff were pleasant. The view was great.

Rather tired and hard to find our way around the various buildings. No Cafe and the only shop in Manapouri that has a very limited range of highly priced groceries closes at 5pm

The bathroom was filthy. The advertised bar and restaurant was no longer a thing and had been shut for years according to a local. This was really annoying as it was why we chose to stay there. They still had the opening hours as part of the rooms information package inside the room. Had to travel a 50km round trip each night to get a proper meal. This place has so kuch more potential but isn't taking advantage of it.

It was very old, tired and outdated. The shower floor was very spongy.

The bed was very comfortable and the shower was good, great water pressure. A nice view from our room of Lake Manapouri.
