Exceptional breakfast each morning, with much thought put in by the host - thank you. Location was great, with nearby cafes and lovely views on the drive to and from. Impeccably clean, yet comfortable and homely at the same time.

We had a whole level to ourselves, which we enjoyed for resetting after camping for two weeks. The rooms, especially the bathrooms, were really lovely. But our favorite part was the hosts, who were extremely welcoming and helpful. Breakfast in the garden was delightful.

Yes, it's 30 minutes out of Christchurch. But the drive is lovely. It's a hidden gem. Wonderful hosts. So nice. Actually one of the best in our travels. And possum, is a winner... a friendly host

Julie's hospitality is unbeatable. She made us feel at home straight away and welcomed us with some fresh cherries and Xmas cake. She asked us about our travel plans and gave some information, as well as where to eat in the area. The apartment is very comfortable and finely decorated, and the bedroom is very cosy. Julie provides bfast, which is great to get the day started. We stayed two nights, and we could have stayed longer if we could have had the opportunity. I absolutely highly recommend Magnolia Cottage! Thank you, Julie! ♥️

The unit is downstairs and the owner are upstairs I would have prefer a gate or some sort of a door not a curtain to separate the unit when they are hosting and a little sink for washing dishes would be lovely.

Our stay at Magnolia Cottage was wonderful! We loved the area, especially the stunning views of the harbour at sunset. The delicious breakfast and exceptional service from our lovely and friendly hosts made it even more special. The beautiful garden was a peaceful retreat that we could enjoy. ^_^ We highly recommend Magnolia Cottage to others and are already looking forward to staying there again!

I arrived very stressed after a difficult few days; the atmosphere created by Julie, Barry and Magnolia Cottage itself gave us valuable rest and relaxation. Pots of tea and homemade cake, just what I needed, plus advice on local places to swim and walk etc.

We loved the cleanliness. The sheets were divine! Such fabulous quality. We fell asleep in minutes. Our bed was super comfortable. The gardens are so lovely, just like a cottage. Love the views of the harbour where the cruise ships come in. We loved Bob the cat and gorgeous Possum the dog coming in for a cuddle. Julie asked if we were comfortable with the animals before letting them roam around. Our breakfast in the garden was such a treat! Luckily the first day we had a sunny morning to experience it. Julie is the perfect hostess. Leaving us little muffins, biscuits and chocolates! The bath is awesome with a view to the garden and Julie left radox for me too! I mean, what more could you ask for! Barry was a delight too. Took time out of his busy day to have a chat. Nothing was too much trouble. One more thing, the flowers placed in the bathroom and bedroom from the garden was such a special tough! Thank you both. Clive and Pamela
