We have stayed here numerous times over the years the rooms are nice and clean and comfortable but rather small no complaints about that when they were cheaper and I do realize everything has got dearer but this motel more so than others have also noticed it's not so busy anymore maybe some winter deals to get people back 😊 there are deals everywhere in winter and we explore them all

We stay here solely because of the pub which we love we can walk to it from our room

Room frontage was full glass facing a corridor and required the blinds to be pulled at all times to get some privacy.

Great location. Receptionist/ live-in manager very helpful and went out of her way to loan us her own airier for our washing. Restaurant/ bar on site very convenient and good food.

Manager Nikki was very helpful with her local knowledge and made us feel very welcome. Great to have advice on where to eat and local attractions, much appreciated! Quick walk into town, handy for everything. Beds were very comfortable and we enjoyed our stay.

Did not feel very private. Rooms were pretty basic but met our expectations based on the price point.

Good value for the price! This is a good location if you’re staying in Kaikoura and have access to a car - not right in the midst of things but within walking distance to the beach and a short drive to restaurants, shops, and all the major sights. Staff were kind. Plenty of parking on-site. The on-site restaurant was actually really good and reasonably priced! We were pleasantly surprised.

We wish to have some nice view overlooking the balcony of our room. It was overlooking some sort of an area for campervan.

It was conveniently located and car park is in front of your room, which makes it a breeze to unload your stuff. The reception was largely responsive and attended to all our questions in a patient and professional manner. There was also a resident restaurant which served great food.

Room was a little odd in layout. The main room housed the living room, kitchen and bedroom for a double bed and a twin bed. An inner bedroom had two twin beds. We would have preferred the double bed inside. Bathroom and kitchen felt a little dated, the water pressure in the shower was not great. When checking in late, they said a message would be taped on the reception door. The message just said what room was ours and that it was unlocked. As we were arriving late, it was a little unnerving as anyone could have accessed the note. What is odd is that we text messaged through booking.com already, they could have just texted that information more securely.

Spacious room, facilities included clean kitchen and bathroom. Plenty of seating in the living room area. Beds were clean and comfortable.
