The Barn at Killin BNB much more than a cozy accommodation - it's a terrific experience! Hugh and Dwayne made an exceptional dinner that could rival any 5 star restaurant. They are both very welcoming and hospitable and invest a lot of time and care into their guests. The breakfast was far beyond continental- eggs bene, fresh fruit and juices, and amazing coffee! The design and decor are well considered and there are several living areas to cozy up and relax by the crackling fire. This is a hidden gem of a place, so don't miss out!

The breakfast was sensational as was the view from our bedroom. Hugh and Dwayne are naturals when it comes to hospitality. Informative and chatty we learnt so much and picked up very good advice for our ongoing journey.The comfort and warmth of hospitality made it hard to leave.

Lake Ohau is a bit remote, so there aren't any restaurants / services around. Despite that, the hosts inform you of everything and offer you alternatives.

Our stay at The Barn at Killin was one of our highlights in our NZ trip. The hospitality of Hugh and Dwayne was incredible and we felt just like at home. The breakfast was amazing, the room was very comfortable (with nice views), and the surroundings were incredible.

For anyone arriving in the night, be warned that the barn is quite hard to find as the Google maps location isn't quite right. Only other tip would be to give Hugh and Dwayne a heads up on dietaries if you have them in advance as the closest town is a good 30 min drive away!

We had a fun and unique stay at the Barn at Killin! Hugh was a brilliant host who made us feel at home from the get go. The decor and overall vibe of the place is flawless and we loved the theme and views of our Alpine room. Throughout our stay, Hugh and Dwayne put in the effort with the small touches; from offering us a wee dram of whisky, to a lift back to our car in the morning. We'd love to come back again and spend a little longer next time!

The reason I rate 10 is I'm not allowed to rate any higher. Exceptional. We only stayed for one night but it became the best experience of the whole trip. We were the only guests in that night. Mr. Huge greeted us by the mainroad. We did reserve a dinner but I never expected it was so good! I'm missing the wine and food and the lovely conversation in that night already. The breakfast was great too! Even better than some 5-star hotel in my opinion... Still the best part is Mr. Huge's hospitality. Room was perfect. Facilities were great. Location is perfect! Ohau is indeed a remote place, the house is 200 meters outside the village but just perfect in my opinion. 1 minute walk to the lake. The house does have a touching history. All the best wishes to you and the house Mr.Hugh.

Everything is amazing! Stylish house, tasty food wine and dessert, nice view, lovely dog and cat and Hugh is so so so sweet. Recommend to all the visitors who plan to come to mt cook.
