Euan was so lovely! Knew a lot about them local area as well further around the south island. He had the room nice and warm when I got there and was super friendly! Beautiful set up in a beautiful location

A heated towel rail would be nice to enable the towels to dry in colder months. Is able to be worked around.

Our room didn't have a connected bathroom, which we would have preferred. However, the one we had was spacious and had everything we needed.

Breakfast was great and varied. Continental or cooked available. Peaceful location right next to the river. Walking distance to the centre of town. Lots of wineries in the neighbourhood, and great restaurants in town. Lots of great walking trails in the region too, easy to get to from Hartley's.

Lovely rooms. Quiet and comfortable with superb bathrooms. Grounds are great, but we didn't make much use of the location per se. Safe, offstreet, storage for our bikes. The cooked breakfast, and decent coffee, was a highlight.

It’s quite dark in the room which could be improved one day with new lighter carpet and curtains, but this is a minor detail.

The steps leading up from the shower to the main living area felt a bit awkward and could be challenging for those with mobility issues. That said, the thoughtful provision of dressing gowns and slippers made the transition a bit easier and more comfortable. It’s a small detail, but worth noting for anyone who might prefer more seamless access.

I had a wonderful stay at this beautiful homestead. The property is charming and well-maintained, offering a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The bed was incredibly comfortable—large and perfect for a restful night’s sleep. The location was ideal, with easy access to the main historical street while still offering a peaceful, serene environment. Breakfast was a highlight—delicious, hot, and freshly cooked, paired with a barista coffee that was the perfect start to the day. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway with great hospitality.

We had such a fabulous stay, the bed was sooooooo comfy and the retreat had everything we needed. The cooked breakfast was superb, and Euan was an excellent host. To top it all off the location couldn’t have been better, walking distance to everything in Clyde. We will be back!

A beautiful older style renovated property set in a wonderful garden and a few minutes walk from the centre of Clyde. Breakfast was excellent and the host Ewan was terrific. Our room and ensuite was large and luxurious.

The split-level accommodation means that the shower is on the ground floor, away from the unit upstairs. But it wasn’t a problem. There’s a second toilet upstairs which is handy.

The breakfast was easily the best we”ve had at a B&B before. The flavours were wonderful together, freshly prepared by Euan. The property has an amazing garden with a view across to the opposite hill. Euan is a lovely, friendly person and made us and our dog feel very welcome. The heat pump in the room kept us warm during a freak snowstorm!

The ONLY thing was the sheer curtains in the bedroom; would have been good to have been able to fully close the lined curtains that were there but the rails didn’t stretch the whole way across so they were more for decorative purposes than functional. It was very minor though in comparison to everything else hence the full score!

Beautiful grounds, delicious breakfast, super comfortable bed and Euan was such a fabulous host! He made us feel so so welcome ☺️

The Breakfast when not wanting a cooked one without eggs. I would have liked a choice of breads and some fruit to put on cereal with yoghurt. More choice would have been nice.
