Beautiful historic hotel. Friendly and accommodating staff. Excellent food and lovely bar. Firepits in the beer garden , hot tub in the garden for residents.

Please upgrade the TV so we can log in and watch Aussie sport. A small fridge would also be nice addition.

Location was great, close to the entrance to Cardrona Ski Fields. Staff were incredible and so kind when my friend broke her arm. Coffee was also great (and we are from Melbourne Australia famous for their coffee). We had an amazing dinner in the restaurant and would love to stay at the hotel again next year. Thank you

Absolutely nothing - it’s perfect I didn’t want to leave

Amazing hotel and location. Amazing atmosphere and so characterful. I didn’t want to leave. Restaurant was amazing and staff reached out to me in advance to make sure a table would be available for me. The room was lovely and loved the little touch of a hot water bottle was brilliant. I couldn’t fault and would come and to NZ just to visit this hotel

Room privacy is quite lacking - blinds need to be down when you are inside as people can look in from both sides of the room ( the outside verandah corridor and the garden) also when room service makes up the room they pull the blinds up which shows guests and pub visitors what’s in your room- not great for security… No comfy place to sit in your room other than the bed and one very awkward leather sling chair . No dedicated quiet guest lounge other than communal pub/ restaurant or small throughfare outside reception. Bed mattress needs replacing. Very noisy from other guests in ski boots thumping past on the verandah, guests from the pub and other people upstairs/ next door in their rooms. No booking system for the hot tub! The one group monopolised the hot tub during our stay.Bathrobes for the hot tub would also be great I assume as Walking across the courtyard in your swimmers at 1 degrees isn’t that exciting.

Very short drive to cardrona car park for free shuttle to snow. Consistent heritage vibe throughout. Good restaurant for breakfast and dinner onsite with open log fires. Nice apres scene at onsite pub and in the outside gardens. Laundry onsite;bird feeder in garden attracts some really interesting birds.

It has been on our to-do list to spend the night here for many years after visiting many times. Finally did it and absolutely loved it! Nice warm rooms, super quiet which was awesome! Loved the spa out the back, watching a kea and Tui playing in the trees. Had a delicious lunch and dinner/dessert with exceptional service! Perfect guys! I hope this continues after change of ownership soon!

The heating system making tapping sounds in Room 10. ( I hope it isn't like this in all rooms). At least they had a little sign explaining the noise and some ear plugs to help you sleep. Unfortunately there was only an old analogue CRT TV, which meant just a couple of local TV channels to watch.

Great customer service, lovely historic hotel with a welcoming environment. Feels like an old cabin/chalet on the inside. Being able to sit in front of a fireplace (several throughout) while enjoying a hot beverage and breakfast was nice. The hot tub in the quiet garden, with a view of the snow-topped mountains! The beer garden was a great spot to enjoy a beer and a snack after a day at the snow whilst catching up with many others doing the same thing.

The amenities in the room were a little out dated, the TV was an old tube that made a weird humming noise the whole time it was on. It would also be great to have a little mini fridge in the room for those ski field snacks.

Perfect location for the ski fields, and the bar / restaurant was fantastic. Delicious food and the fireplaces were a perfect place to warm up.

We loved our stay! It was warm and comfy. The rooms were small and old but that was part of the charm. We were left with hot water bottles in case we were cold (but we didn’t need them) The pub was empty by 10pm so it wasn’t loud to sleep at all. Such a beautiful meal and views. Couldn’t reccomend enough.
