The doors ro each room all tend to slam and make more noise than necessary.

Rooms are tidy. Good jug and coffee/tea provided. Excellent king size bed. The natural hot pools are great on a cold winters night.

The resort is only a 10mim drive to Taupo, where you can access several restaurants and ofcourse some sightseeing. The rooms were very comfy, especially the beds.I enjoyed my stay at Wairakie resort.

False advertising - superior rooms look much bigger & modern in photos than what they actually are, Not enough parking close to room, $5 surcharge on credit cards, Stain on furniture and sheets, Slow internet, 2 single beds pushed together with lump in the middle, Old appliances, Expensive breakfast.

There was old food (a container with rice) inside the mini fridge. Disgusting. The gym is outdated is super cold. No water in tge sauna to pour in the stones, no rubbish bin inside the bedroom or bedroom toilet.

The hotel is a bit dated and could do with a refresh. The overall friendliness makes up for it.

Beds and pillows not comfortable, Can hear people up stairs if you are on the bottom floor.

The hot pools, the round one is very hot, more like a spa. The square pool is a nice temperature. Good playground for kids.

Unfortunately, the good was a bit overshadowed by the paper-thin walls and ridiculously creaky floors which made it really difficult to sleep. It would be fine if other guests were considerate of the thin walls, but they weren't. Difficult for the hotel to fix I understand. I also had some wifi issues which were a problem when trying to work - it was perfect on day one and three, but on day two it just completely stopped working for several hours (it wasn't my device and I was nowhere near the data limit, I wasn't making zoom calls etc- it seemed like the server just kicked me off for several hours). I tried moving to a communal area but still had the same issue despite reception saying it was working.

There's so much to love about the place. The grounds and setting are really beautiful, rooms are spacious, comfortable, clean, and well supplied, beds are very comfy, staff are really friendly, breakfast is nice, and the facilities are a bonus. If you're a heavy sleeper, it's a fantastic place to stay.

Overall aesthetic and facilities are quite tired/dated. Lower pricing on restaurant dining and buffet breakfast might make them a more appealing option. Our room deck overlooked the carpark, which was fine for us as I could watch the kids on the playground from our room, but might not be for everyone.

Great place for staying with kids. The hot pools and trampoline were much enjoyed! Tidy, crisp bed linen. Loved the machine options at the onsite gym.

I think that some parts of the property were outdated and signage was fully clear.

The room we stayed in was clean and had all we needed, and there were many options that would be good for a longer stay such as the pool, tennis court and golf.

Unfortunately the Resort is showing signs of aging.

Breakfast was too expensive. However we enjoyed our evening meal.

Pool lights and change rooms at pool didn't turn on until it was really dark. Couldn't see to get changed. Pool needed cleaning scum around sides
