Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RussiaSo far this is the best hotel I have stayed in in South Asia. Friendly staff, ready to help with any problem and to accommodate. Clean, comfortable room. Beautiful, tastefully decorated building. Regular cleaning of the rooms. Feeling safe: you can safely leave valuables in the room. No insects. Always hot water in the shower. Beautiful view from the terrace. Hearty and delicious breakfast. Very good location (for me): a quiet residential area, but at the same time 15 minutes walk to the Baudhnath stupa, around which there are many shops and cafes. I was very pleased. When I come to Kathmandu again, I will definitely stay here again.

FranceA Hidden Gem in a quiet, Buddhist part of Kathmandu. I had the pleasure of staying at ViaVia Boutique Hotel during my recent trip to Kathmandu, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the warm hospitality, stylish design, and peaceful atmosphere—a true oasis amidst the bustling energy of the city. The rooms are beautifully decorated, combining modern comforts with charming local touches. Everything was spotless, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. I especially appreciated the thoughtful details like eco-friendly toiletries and locally sourced decor that gave the space a unique, authentic feel. The staff went above and beyond to make sure every aspect of my stay was perfect. They were always friendly, helpful, and ready with great recommendations for things to do and places to eat in the area. One of my favorite parts of the hotel was the rooftop terrace—it offers a serene view of the city and is the perfect spot to relax with a drink or enjoy a peaceful breakfast. Speaking of food, the on-site restaurant served delicious meals with both local and international options, all freshly prepared and full of flavor. The location is ideal—close enough to major attractions like, yet tucked away just enough to provide a quiet retreat when you need it. Overall, ViaVia Boutique Hotel is a perfect blend of comfort, culture, and calm. Whether you’re in Kathmandu for adventure, culture, or just to unwind, this hotel is a wonderful place to call home during your stay.

SpainExcellent choice. The hotel is in a quiet place, 10 min from Bouddha Stupa. At night, it is very quiet. You do not hear a soul. The rooms are great and the premises are very clean. Quality-price relationship is excellent. And the best, the nice staff that runs the place!

United Statesnot a big deal but something to consider like we had ant issues on the 2nd day even though my kitchen was clean but the female staff took care of that . wish we had a way to hold our soap/ shampoo in the showers and maybe a mat in front of the shower because our feet would be wet when we get out the shower to prevent from falling. oh yeah the idea of walking to the 4th floor and thank goodness i had small luggage was not fun . no lift 🤭
omg. from the day we arrived minmarg was our reception and he was nice helped us out getting our car situated, answering all my questions of our stay and help me out trying to get my daughter bday cake which was during our stay. he literally went all out. that’s what i call true customers service thank you for making everything comfortable and getting us things when we needed really appreciate it. oh yes breakfast for me and my family we loved it is simple but i was happy we had breakfast before we adventure out. they also have dinner love how cool and aesthetic lobby was. love the room we was in so comfortable cozy the whole set was great the bed omg was so comfortable i didn’t want to leave my bed.

United KingdomWe liked it all
The location is great. Boudnath is a quieter alternative to staying in Thamel. Air quality in Kathmandu is pretty bad, but Boudnath air is noticeably better due to its higher elevation. Our room was modern light and airy. The air conditioning unit virtually silent. The shower was exceptional, great water pressure from a large rain shower head. The bed was very comfortable. The area was very quiet at night and we slept really well, much better than when we have stayed in Thamel on previous trips. We checked out very early in the morning before breakfast to start our trek, but we were presented with a packed breakfast to take with us which was such a nice gesture. At this price point I think you’d be hard pushed to find better in this area. We look forward to returning at the end of our trek.

I can not give higher then a 10 so I decided myself to give this hotel a golden star :)) 🍀 For the last 10 days I needed to rest and heal from influenza and this hotel was very kind and helpful. It is a quite hotel in a quite area, just 10 minutes walk from Boudhanath. My room had a big comfortabele bed and a great shower. In the hallway you can refill your bottle with free water. There is a cattle in the room so I could make my own tea or coffee. Breakfast is plentyful and they have a nice rooftop terrace to also hang out. Only this morning the taxi to airport didnt go well but with the Indrive app its easy to book a new one. Dhanyabād staff of ViaVia for being there for me when I was feeling very sick. 🌷🌷🌷

BangladeshOne of the few hotels that I will always remember and keep coming back ❤️ Via Via Boutique Hotel is one of a kind in Kathmandu at a serene local neighbourhood. The hotel is located away from the noisy roadside. The staff, specifically Minmar, was friendly, helpful, and always available. If you want a sustainable and plastic free stay, this is the best hotel. There is a restaurant and bar with a small bookshelf containing books, magazines and playing cards. The hotel interiors are creative with a rustic vibe, having some of the latest power saving technologies like sensor lights, solar powered DC plugs, and a lot more. There are plants throughout the lobbies, terraces, entry, and exit. The terrace on our floor was spacious and had a telescope. They even provide free mineral water at stair landings and terraces. During our stay, we were given free buffet breakfast and free airport shuttle. All this at a very affordable rate at Via Via Boutique Hotel, I would say, is highly recommended if you are looking for a comfortable and stress free stay.
