How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Nothing is there that I don't like everything is perfect and wonderful!
Wonderful ! Homestay on best location, staff also a helpful and friendly,service is best one of the real homestay and also found everything on here (trekking office,travel office ) and best is near of market area and peaceful area there is many more best thing that I cannot describe here. 😊

The guest house is conveniently located just a few minutes' walk from the lakeside. The owner and his son manage the homestay with great professionalism and are always eager to assist with anything you might need, whether it's a yoga mat, transportation, or information about the area. I had a wonderful stay at Mangal and highly recommend this guest house for its friendly staff, fair pricing, and clean, comfortable accommodations.

We were so happy at Mangal homestay. I liked the place, it was peaceful and clean it also met my expectations. I was looking for a private kitchen and they did provide the facility which made me love this place more. The staffs are friendly and helpful too.

We liked everything about this hotel.
My experience at here was overall positive, thanks to several key factors. Firstly, the owner's friendly and polite demeanor made me feel welcomed and valued as a guest. Their helpfulness added to the hospitality of the stay. The rooms, though simple, were clean and adequately equipped with all essentials. I particularly appreciated the cleanliness of the bathrooms, which also included all the amenities as mentioned. The presence of a small kitchen available for guests to use was a delightful surprise, allowing for the convenience of making tea or other refreshments at our leisure. In summary, Mangal Homestay provided a comfortable and accommodating stay, with its clean rooms, helpful owner, and convenient amenities contributing to a pleasant experience.

I recently stayed at Mangal Homestay in Pokhara, Nepal, in the Lakeside area, and it was a fantastic experience. The room was nice and clean with comfortable beds, with 24-hour hot water, and they offered a free kitchen where you could cook using your own ingredients. The staff were incredibly kind, polite, and helpful. Plus, the price was the most affordable I could find. Highly recommend! ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

Construction (on another property) behind our room was bad timing for us, unfortunately. And some rooms see no sun.

Super loud, especially in the morning. Lots of noise from family and also construction next door.
Location is amazing. Just a hotel - not sure where the kitchen is. Comfortable bed. Really liked staying here for the facilities and the location, close to a lot of good restaurants and bars. Nice staff.

If vegetarian food is managed it would be great.
Very nice location near to fewa lake. The owner is very decent, helpful, polite. Explained about our tour and well guided for muktinath visit.

I loved staying here. The owner and his family are just so friendly and nice and always eager to help you with anything. Their place is located just a few minutes away of the beautiful lakeside of Pokhara.
