How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewI don’t know how to thank this place enough. I stayed there 4 times in over 2 months. They treated me like a family, I felt like home every time I was coming back from my treks. They allowed me to keep my extra luggage with them for the whole 2 months and kept it safe. They were giving me 2 big mugs for my friend and I to drink some tea. I am so grateful for everything! They were always giving me good tips on how to get to Bandipur or to Salleri or to Syabru Bensi. Helped us to find a good laundry place nearby. In general this place is in a quiet area, only 5 min walking from all the major places in Thamel. Room is nice, shower is hot, view from the balcony is amazing, roof top is so chilled. I can talk about this place for ages. Highly recommend it and would always come back! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!!
This place is PERFECT!!!

Verified reviewI had a great one-week stay at this lovely family-run hotel in Kathmandu. It's centrally located just a short walk from the Thamel area, making it easy to explore the city's sights on foot. There are plenty of restaurants, cafes, and laundry services nearby, and I loved how close it was to yoga studios and massage options—perfect for unwinding after a day of sightseeing. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They arranged my airport pickup, which made arriving stress-free, and even helped me organize a beautiful hike at a very reasonable price. The room was comfortable, with everything I needed: strong air conditioning, a nice hot shower, and a peaceful atmosphere. As someone who works remotely, I was pleased with the Wi-Fi. I average 5–6 video calls a day, and only two Zoom calls dropped throughout the entire week. Even during a city-wide power outage one evening, the hotel’s Wi-Fi kept working, and the power came back within an hour. Overall, I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a warm, well-located, and reliable place to stay in Kathmandu. I'd definitely return!
Thank you for your time to reviews ,See you again.

Verified reviewThe Location is perfect. Walking distance to center. 1 minute away from the tourist bus stop and there is an amazing restaurant next to the property. Quit at night and cozy bed. Hot water was a BIG + point! I would recommend staying here if you are in Kathmandu. The owner is also very friendly and helped us with everything to know.
The room wasn’t really clean and one pillow was very dirty. If this would be improved than I would give 10/10
Thank you for your feedback.

Verified reviewThe location is excellent for catching buses out of Kathmandu, being only a few minutes walk away. Suited my budget and needs, with my international plan only landing at 9:30 am. I had sufficient time to collect bags and make my way to the airport, knowing that reception would be open till 12 am. The manager was extremely welcoming, warm, and accommodating. My room was neat, furnished with the basics required for an overnight stop-over.
Nothing, co aodering the extremely reasonable price.
Thank you for your reviews.

Verified reviewI only stayed here 1 night as it was a couple of minutes walk from the Pokhara tourist bus stop. The guest house is along a quiet lane, close to the main rds but off it so noise was not an issue. The family are just lovely & welcoming; I was shown the quick way to get to the 6.30am bus which was really nice. They also booked my bus for me. Reliable tour agency, nice very comfotable sofa seats, safe but very long bumpy bus; I absolutely would not want to have done that journey on any other type of bus! Room was huge for my 1 person needs, clean & at 8pm the shower was very hot. When I come back to Katmandu I will be staying here :)

Verified reviewGreat little hotel just 5 minutes from Thamel but down a quiet side street. You can walk from the main road as taxis struggle to get down there. The family are super friendly and they have free water refill too. The room was huge which was great! Thanks so much for my stay..
The floors weren't very clean, and the duvet covers of the bedding didn't smell too fresh.

Verified reviewHost is the friendliest, smiling and most welcoming (: Felt like family, and enjoyed chatting 😊 Thanks for going out of your way to show me the way to the bus stop, and also helping to safe keep my luggage for me. The guesthouse is clean and comfortable, located in a nice and quiet spot away from busy Thamel, but still within walking distance. Thank you and your family for having me 😊 Take care, I enjoyed my days staying here and hope to be back again if I'm in Nepal! (:
