I didn‘t know what it means living together in a community but now I know it. I experienced the jungle safari with the jeep and an amazing, english speaking guide, doing some bicycling with the cycles of community members enjoying the sunset at the agriculture, meeting students on the way to school, doing some fishing and collecting snails in the river, eating local food and dancing with the women group. I also enjoyed drinking the clean and refreshing water and taking a shower at the chwadi while talking to the community. The friendly and helpful staff is preparing delicious food by using regional and fresh products.

The place is gorgeous, rooms are very nice and clean and the garden is beautiful, a really good place to chill or work. The staff were super friendly, they told me all the work that they are doing to foster the local community. They have built a school for local kids and they are empowering Tharu comunity ladies by working at the retreat and showing the local culture and cuisine at the retreat. They also have several initiatives related to jungle and river upkeep and recovery. Great work!!!

Green Chwadi felt like a little paradise for me. The surroundings are beautiful and it's right in nature. The staff is so incredibly accommodating, they made me feel like a princess and always took care of my needs. They also had different activities on offer, and I chose the jungle walk, Jeep Safari and boat trip, and a cultural night with the Tharu people. It was such a once in a lifetime experience! They also took me on different side trips in the area and I got to meet locals and saw how they live. The rooms are decorated so nicely with artwork from local artists. The food was all organic and very good, and even though I have a lot of food restrictions (vegan, glutenfree), they always created little varieties for me. With part of the benefits, the nature retreat supports the school next door, and the locals in the area, which is auch a nice bonus. You can really feel how everyone involved pours their heart into this and that's what makes the difference. I left Green Chwadi so relaxed and centered, and wish I could've stayed longer! :-)

That place is an absolute treatment and offers you a place to stay in peace and harmony. Since you are really close to the national park you can do activities like a jeep safari, walking safari or even kayaking at the nearby river. Furthermore you will participate in and experience the lifestyle of the local communities. With your stay you will also contribute in the development and empowerment of those communities, that will welcome you with very warm smiles. Highly recommended!

We had a delightful stay at this hotel. The rooms were spacious, with an open layout that felt like staying in a cozy cottage. It's a great option if you're traveling with a group of people. What really stood out to us was the personalized service we received at every meal, starting with a customized breakfast. During our safari, the hotel even arranged a special lunch that was delivered to us in the forest, making for a unique and enjoyable picnic experience. The hotel also helped us arrange a private safari tour, which was a highlight of our trip. In the evening, we had the chance to try some delicious local fish from the river we had seen earlier on our safari. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling through the area by car.
