Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

BelgiumI did find the wifi a bit too slow.
I enjoyed my stay at Ananda Tree House. It's a cosy place and having the café downstairs is definitely a plus. I enjoyed being able to use the kitchen and there is a very cute organic shop next door for groceries.

NetherlandsThis was my favorite stay of the whole trip to Nepal! I arrived in an absolute oasis of calmness and serenity. The owners were incredibly nice and attentive. You'd get a hot cup of water of fresh lemon water when you sit down in the café and the food is superb! I wish i'd booked for a longer stay to try out all the meals. The rooms are spacious and I appreciated the ecofriendly options. It's close to the bouddhanath stupa, so i'd easily go back and forth to enjoy the neighbourhood and spend an hour reading in the cafe. This would be the first place I book when I come back to Nepal.

United StatesA wonderfully happy and helpful staff. A cozy place for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Just close enough to the Boudha Stuppa and just far enough away. A perfect stay, and a comfortable spot to return to after forays into Kathmandu.

GermanyEverything was genuinely great.
Just in the heart of Boudha, run by 3 brothers and their staff. Great experience, super friendly, professional, welcoming, flexible staff. Super clean, hot water, great food in the artistic cafe which belongs to them downstairs. I got obsessed with their vegan matcha cake :) and I learnt a lot about Dolpo and its culture. It was an amazing experience which I would repeat in a heartbeat. Def recommendable.

Very nice and modern Tibetan hotel, more like co-leaving space. Quiet location, very clean, a lot of space inside. Kitchen with drinking water. There is supposed to be a washing machine for free but I didn't have time to do laundry. Nice cafe with shop on the ground floor. Just near the house is my favourite organic shop

India1. No lifts 2. Unkept door handles end bolts - I cut my finger bolting my fingers room’s door because it was so tight 3. Luke warm (not warm) water in the common bathroom 4. Only one power socket in the room! I was on an assignment, I had to charge my phone+cameras+laptop but where was only one socket. So I had to put alarms and wake up to change devices.

AustriaMatress was quite thin and hard. It was very loud, even tough the windows were closed. You can hear mopeds all day long (less traffic at night) and airplaces flying directly over the house every 15min (check the google map: the guest house is 1.7km from the starting strip of the airport in the same direction the planes go) which made the house tremble. Hot shower in the common bathroom gave off boiling water, at night cockroaches were in the bathroom. Staff is friendly but unorganized and don't speak english very well. In general it was too expensive, for this price you usually get an attached bathroom and a quieter place.
The café on ground level had a nice boho-vibe and served good coffee. Communal areas (inside w/ kitchen, outside) available on all floors (but nobody used them). Minimalist and chic vibe of the "budget" room we stayed in. Room was clean and had a desk and a table that matched in height and had hooks for putting your clothes to (both very unsual for Nepal, but very much needed for me) Multiple sockets very provided to charge all electronic devices at the same time (also unusual). Vegan milk options available. Wifi was working ok. Walking distance to Boudanath, but for everything else you need a taxi (to go to Thamel) which gets quite expensive.
