How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.

Good hotel and location. A small fridge in the room would be useful. The breakfast was “ok” and costly. I ate off-site. I would stay there again.

Upgrade to double room which as very spacious for one person. Staff was friendly and easy-going. Good for a stay in Bodø waiting for / arriving form the ferry

Air conditioning rather loud in the room overnight.
Excellent breakfast with varied choices for all dietary requirements Very friendly, helpful staff. Excellent location for transfer from the airport and to the ferry port.

The room is uncomfortably small, even travelling with carry on size bags. We had to lean to walk around the bed and avoid hitting the TV on the wall. The communal rubbish bins were just outside our door and completely over filled and smelling rotten from the time we arrived to the time I asked them to address it (the next day). I wouldn’t stay here again because the “parking garage on site” shown on booking description is actually public street parking that you pay for and have to move your car at 8am every morning. No facilities to make tea/coffee however staff did kindly provide hot water upon request.
The location is great, right across from the train station and walking distance to the centre. The staff was polite.

It would have been helpful to have the lift instructions in English as well as Norwegian!

Better communication about facilities available. A few more supplies for kettle and coffee machine would have been good. We had 3 coffee pods for two for two days. We Brits drink tea and take milk.
We upgraded on arrival so had a much bigger room but it didn't cost very much to upgrade. Hotel well located just outside the station. Was quiet and well appointed. Useful storage room as we were catching the sleeper train. Wish we had found the laundry room.

No kettle or room for any thing other than sleeping in but surprisingly comfortable and cool
Great location opposite train station in town with a view of the ferry port. Tiny room and shower 😁 But cheap and cheerful and amazingly quiet 😊

In my opinion, the room decor is a bit too dark, but if someone likes it... Four adults in the room and the bunk beds a bit too small. It would be nice to have a drink of mineral water upon arrival.
The hotel is located very close to the ferry port and a few minutes' walk from the bus stop towards the airport. Clean room. Possibility to buy coffee and tea at the reception.

The budget rooms are fine but do not expect a lot of space. Bathroom was good. Staff good. Buffet Breakfast was very good nice choice of things. Right next to railway station if using train

Breakfast not included, having to pay for tea and coffee.
Large bed rather than horrible single bed. So close to station. Good view of harbour and walkable to restaurants etc. Receptionist so very helpful, went over and above to help. helpful.

Basic Hotel with everything needed. Clean and comfortable room. The location is also very handy. Directly next to the Train station and close to the harbor where the Ferries leave.

The space between the wall and the bed was really narrow, so I had to turn sideways to walk to the window. Alternativately roll across the bed. I missed a hook for my jacket on the wall, it would have been easier to hang up my jacket rather than on a coat hanger.
I am not much of a breakfast person, so I only ate breakfast the first morning. It was okay. The bed was very comfortable! I really liked the option of self check-in and check-out. I really appreciated proper toilet paper, and not the thin and hard type you normally get in hotels.

It is right by the bus station, so it is easy to find. We could easily walk around the town from there.

Good location, close to ferry terminal as well as the city centre. Clean, comfy. Nothing special but did the job well.
