Room was too hot - we resorted to taking the duvets out of the covers and using them as cover sheets. Air conditioning didn't seem to make any difference. Main course portions in the restaurant were huge!! A little less would make such a difference to the enjoyment of food that was really tasty.

Friendly staff, especially Janet on reception (great welcome, helpful information), and Ania in Polarbjorn restaurant (helpful, professional and fun). View from restaurant outstanding and breakfast is as wide-ranging and tasty as other reviews say. Some lovely touches around the hotel e.g. little jazz figure in reception. Hotel is part way up hil - helpful for getting to steps to viewpoint above Alesund.

There were no kettle nor coffee machine in the room. The bathroom didn’t have shower mat, robe, and only came with big dispensers of handsoap or all-in-one shampoo/body wash. Not quite what you expect for this price. Some standard rooms give directly on the parking lot (not above, at the same level… directly from your windowh. Also there was no free coffee/tea at the reception, on some for sell.

Excellent breakfast with some local produces. Kind staff.

Requested for 3 adults per room but the 3rd was a fold up bed. If this had been a proper bed then would have been perfect.

We happened to arrive at the same time as an extremely large group and there were issues with the booking system. Took a few minutes but Maribel located our booking and got us sorted as quickly and professionally as she could.

The bathroom is more like a wet room which makes getting ready after a shower a little more difficult. There’s a gap in the double bed, I appreciate that’s the scandi way but for us brits one of us often nearly fell through. No problem, just an observation.

There is no shower curtain in the bathroom, so the whole bathroom is wet after taking a shower. The other room has a bathtub, so there is no such problem.

The breakfast is good and the location is also very good. The park behind is the observation deck, where you can overlook the entire city. It is a 5-minute walk to the port.

The AC did not function as it should, if at all. The shower is not adequately shielded; Water always splashed underneath it and it isn’t long enough,

The room was spacious and offered a great view. Breakfast was good, but there wasn’t the variety there was at the Scandic in Voss. The water station is messy, water is splashed everywhere so one must be very careful not to slip on the wet floor. One day the coffee machine did not work at all.

The food at the evening restaurant was also really good, though the waitress didn’t seem very friendly. She looked overworked, which might explain it, but it did affect the overall dining experience a bit.

I had a great stay! The room was clean and cozy, and the view from the window was absolutely amazing. The bed was so comfortable—I slept like a baby. Breakfast was delicious with a nice variety to choose from. I’d definitely stay here again and recommend it to others!

The room was very small! My husband and I were unable to open both of our suitcases at the same time on the floor and there was hardly any room to move around the room itself. Also, there were no outlets in the bathroom. So I had to blow dry my hair in the main portion of the room without a mirror. Upon check-in the female staff member was pleasant but both times we interacted with the male staff member, at the front desk, he was very unfriendly and curt. He shouldn’t work in hospitality if he doesn’t like interacting with people.
