Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomCannot fault the hotel. Staff were excellent, breakfast was great, the set menu dinner was brilliant (and well worth the price). Stayed in the oldest building on the site and it was so atmospheric.

United StatesDisappointed in the dinner; but otherwise our stay was flawless.
One of the highlights of our trip. A unique and memorable experience. We stayed on the second floor of a rustic hut that could only be reached by a steep ladder. The room was modern with its own bathroom and a traditional bath (no shower). We loved it. The setting is beautiful; the common area included several rooms with chairs, couches and tables. The breakfast was very good with lots of choices. We tried the fixe price four portion (910 krone) dinner; three of the courses were excellent but the entree (lamb) was tough and flavorless. So we elected to eat pizza in Lom (12 km away) the following night. Since we stayed two nights, they were willing to wash our clothes (for a price) that they hung to dry. We will always remember this place.

United StatesNothing - what a wonderful place!
I have no words to express how wonderful our time was here - it was easily our favorite stay in Norway! The owners are lovely, and they have created a truly charming experience from start to finish. Our rooms were delightful and comfy. Ours included a rain barrel bathtub! Do yourself a favor and book the dinner - it's absolutely delicious, and well worth the price. Breakfast was also wonderful. The property itself is fascinating, especially if you love history. Every detail of your stay has been carefully curated for a superb experience. I wish we could have stayed longer, and I hope to be back!

United StatesIt’s not accessible for people with disabilities. It’s an old property built on the side of a mountain.
Modern rooms inside the original buildings helped me understand what life was like for my ancestors.

Polandthe hotel attracts with low fares but the gourmet dinner is very expensive and there are no other alternatives nearby. It also takes a long time to serve which is not best for everyone - I'd rather spend more time outdoors.
The location and ambience are fantastic - a memorable experience in an open-air museum (skansen in Polish)

United StatesIf accessibility is an issue (disability, elderly etc) then this isn't the right place. I wasn't quite expecting the accessibility issues, and had elderly parents. But it was still great.
Amazing setting in a mountain valley. Great traditional buildings. Friendly, helpful staff.

NetherlandsUnfortunately, I found the price of the property really too high for what we got. Of course this is a 'boutique' hotel in a prime location, but the room we got was very small. I would say too small for this price. The beds were relatively short and have a hard footboard. With my 1m94 this made my night rest quite uncomfortable. Although, as far as I can see, we ordered a double bed we got two twin beds next to each other.
The place is beautiful, has charachter, and clearly has a rich history. Everything is clean and nicely renovated. The dinners were excellent and really added a great (albeit pricy) experience to the whole stay.

United StatesWe loved it all. If you are expecting modern conveniences of tv, refrigerator, etc you should plan to stay elsewhere. The Roisheim is an incredible step back in time that has been meticulously cared for.
The food is absolutely incredible!!! It was a little confusing from the description as to which meals were included in the price when staying at the hotel as a guest. Breakfast is; dinner is not. Dinner is absolutely worth the experience, just be aware that it is charged separately.

UkraineIt was a bit weird… upon arrival, we were offered a room in a barn (or small warehouse) which was a bit unexpected… the room was clean but my wife has the allergy for dust, so we didn’t feel quite comfortable The personnel was ready to help, and we were able to change the room… to what we initially booked So, overall conclusion - when booking, be aware that the surprise is possible, as the room you book may appear a bit different from what you expect
Friendly and helpful personnel, tasty dinner, good wine list Nice location
