A nice and cozy hotel based on a classical Norwegian farm, located deeply and quietly at a branch of the famous Sognefjorden, and a good place for glaciers hiking in Nigardsbreen.

    No TV in my room.

Great place just to relax and view the fjord. Booked the larger room with patio & view. Very comfortable room. Helpful, friendly staff with local recommendation. Enjoyed breakfast (fresh eggs) and dinner.

Quiet, little remote place. - but no bother at all.

Very nice old farmhouse with exellent views. The Food was great and staff was attentive and nice. We had some drinks in the garden next to the main building which was excellent as it was very hot day for a norwegian summer. The addition of a sauna and a pier to watch (did not made use of Kayaks for rent) over the water made it a nice complete package. From the hotel it was only a short drive to Jostedal for excellent hikes or to visit the glacier.

The room was a bit small and felt a bit crowded for staying with multiple people.

We stayed in the Fjord Cabin (the glass mirror cube) and it was definitely a YOLO kind of experience. We felt suspended in the fjord while lying in bed, and saw both sunset and sunrise (11pm and 4:30am, respectively :). That said, I think would have preferred their regular suite with the big windows for the extra space. Also, we were blessed with amazing weather (sunny and nearly 80 degrees), and it can get hot in the fjord cabin given it's all glass, but the AC worked well. The location was incredible with a great view of waterfall right across the fjord. It is very easy to visit both Sognefjord and Hardangerfjord (we did both before/during/after). A great central location to see fjord country. We had dinner both nights. They serve a 3-course fixed menu but will do substitutions for food preference (eg., my husband doesn't eat fish). Excellent, fresh cooking and worth the price. The wine list was also very good with a good selection and reasonably priced (for Norway). That said, I don't know where else you would have dinner without driving at least 30 minutes. Keep in mind dinner is somewhat communal, so you may be seated with other guests. We met 2 lovely couples from Belgium and even got some great travel tips! All in all a very memorable stay!

The fjord cabin was pretty small. there was not much space to sit inside except on the bed once we put the luggage on the chairs (only place for them). But there was a lovely outside seating area so that's fine. The shower didn't drain our first night and flooded the bathroom, but that was fixed the 2nd day. Wifi was very weak in the fjord cabin. Breakfast was ok but didn't match the quality of dinner or other places we've stayed in Norway.

The location, the view and scenery as well as the staff were formidable. Also chose the 3 course dinner at the hotel with wine pairing and it was very good and convenient.

Lovely location, clean, great food both dinner and Breakfast

Decor felt a bit old fashioned. Just personal preference all very clean. Travelling as a couple so 2 small single beds not ideal.

Dinner was exceptional--my compliments to the chef! Best meal of our trip! Breakfast was also delicious, and the renovated barn setting for breakfast was charming. Speciai thanks for the homemade jam for my croissant! All of the common areas were lovely and well appointed. One of the staff provided over-the-top help with getting the EV car charger to work--in the rain! Thank you!

The weather was not ideal for exploring outdoors, and we arrived too late to take advantage of checking out the neighborhood.

Our stay at Nes Gard was exceptional in every way. The room was lovely. The view of the fjord and the waterfall across the fjord was stunning. The breakfast was delicious, with many options provided. Nes Gard rates a perfect 10 for us in every way.

Beautiful location and delicious dinner that was unusual and visually appealing.

My room did not have a good view of the fjord. It had side windows that looked out on a garden and the fjord at a corner.

Beautifull spot, authentic Norwegian style and buildings, great dinners, specially great wines cellar (not seen before in Norway), nice sauna on the fjord! Great starting point for trips ( Gletser, Stavekirke, fjord touring)

Given the high price level one would expect a bit more service: tea and coffee in the room, daily cleaning, more comfortable matrass (to soft)
