How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

We were staying just a single night and arrived late. Hotel is a large building, we had to walk around the building searching for an entrance, and there are no signs or indication where the entrance was on building sides. It was not a problem for us only, but also for an other couple who were searching the way in at the same time. Parking next to hotel at that time was fully occupied so we need to park on the street and hand carry the luggage. The person at the reception was polite but not keen to help. Instead of letting my family into the room and finalize formalities with me, my wife with kinds were asked to stay in the lobby and wait there for about 30 minutes meanwhile I was hand carrying luggage from the car parked in distance. A difficulty for all of us in the late evening, after a long drive. A thing that is hard to understand when booking is done online on booking.com, with all personal and credit card details, passports in hand and commitment to pay.
We liked the size of the family room, and the room was very well prepared. Breakfast was really nice and lots of choices. We had a good, undisturbed night.

The lock that locks the door from inside the room did not work. It was not a big problem since I stayed only one night.

Nice hotel, central location and friendly staff. Unfortunately we experienced a lot of noise from cars and people outside, but that might be because of its central location.

The family rooms need updating and more insulation. The parents of the kids in the adjacent room had forgotten to teach their kids how to behave when staying at a hotel. Loud screaming and slamming of doors at 5.50 a.m. is unacceptable.
The staff was super friendly and the breakfast was very good.

Something had happened during my booking, so they thought I came alone. The staff made this error right and I payed 50,- NOK to make this right, no stress and all good so far. The next day when checking out the same issue came up once more, I then told that I allready payd for that, but the lady at the desk didnt believe me so I had to pay the same fee once more. It was only 50,- NOK afterall, so no big deal, but they should have better control than this, I even told her that I allready had made the payment but she denied it. I didnt contact them to fix this issue, but nevertheless it was an error that shouldnt have happened. Yes I've checked my bank, I was charged both times.
The location was very good, close to some amasing restaurants and the breakfast was very good.

Quite a limited menu choice for an evening meal.
It’s location relative to our visit to the Arctic Circle visitors centre (just a 50 mile ride).

Bathroom was functional with good water pressure but needs a refurbishment.
Spent only one night in Mo i Rana. Room was good. Front desk girl gave us a good tip about parking. There were few restaurants around the hotel. Breakfast was ok, we had better at other Scandic hotels.
