How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

When the hotel room cost 2000nok per night, I don’t think one should be also charged for early check-in OR for breakfast as we were.

Nothing really, it's obviously getting on a bit in years, but good value for money.
Fantastic breakfast - home made strawberry, as well as raspberry jam! And the freshly baked bread: amazing! And the helpful receptionist who we rented bikes from, and who explained where to get to "Gamle Jærbanen". Very affordable parking too.

Nothing that I can remember.
The breakfast and restaurant were quite good. The location is very central, and the hotel plays an important part in Egersund's history.

The hotel appeared to be fully booked during my visit, and this clearly put pressure on service — especially at breakfast, where the buffet wasn't replenished quickly enough and many trays remained empty for long stretches. Noise was another issue. A loud band playing nearby went on until late, and even within the hotel, the general atmosphere — at breakfast and in the bar — felt surprisingly loud for what I had hoped would be a quiet weekend away. In short: a well-presented hotel with good staff, but perhaps not the best choice during busier times if you’re seeking a peaceful or relaxing experience.
The hotel building itself is charming and well-kept, and the staff were friendly, helpful, and accommodating throughout my stay.

First room had a non-functional fridge (needed to refrigerate medication). Moved to a different much smaller room. Room was ok, but for the price not great.
Good location in downtown Egersund. Nice staff and a solid breakfast.

The food in restaurant was not vegan/ vegetarian friendly at all So if you don’t want Norwegian Christmas juletallerken or meat so please find something else . The food was also overpriced

Some of the room lighting was inadequate, but very minor issue.
Good site just a short walk away from the centre but in a quiet side street. Long-established hotel amongst many old buildings, but facilities not dated at all. Communal areas well-appointed comfortable and welcoming. Staff very friendly and helpful. Single bedroom had a comfortable bed and excellent shower room.

My only negative was that I would have liked tea/coffee facilities in the room.
It was a super clean hotel, staff we really friendly and the breakfast buffet was amazing. Filled us up all day!! Great location for the centre of egersund.

No phone in room to call the front desk for towels or other needs. The beds were not exceptionally comfortable and there wasn't a bedside table.
Excellent location is the middle of Egersund. The breakfast buffet was good.

The electrical wires and plugs need updating and grounding.
Breakfast was great and maintained at level even when a bus of elderly people swept over the breakfast buffets. A special note for the fantastic collection of wines and quality of the dinner. Impressive.

The 2 extra beds (we were with 4 people) were uncomfortable (one mattress was way too hard, the other way too soft). For 2 people I definitely would book again at this place, for 4 people I wouldn’t. The EV chargers didn’t work.

Extremely friendly welcome and a very comfortable stylish room. After a good nights sleep we enjoyed a substantial breakfast. We also enjoyed a great Indian meal in a local restaurant.
