How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The bed was a little uncomfortable the matress was thin and the sheets where not great.
The hostel was very clean at all times of the day. It had a nice common space which was great for everyone to meet.

All perfect
I had a pleasant 4-nighy stay here, and felt satisfied with the self check-in process and the facilities provided. Beds were comfortable and afforded privacy, and the location in central Stavanger could not be beaten!

Wonderful little guesthouse, beautiful common area, centrally located - easy to get anywhere by walking, the bed was comfortable and all areas were clean.

no alcohol policy ( had to keep it in the car ) , was ther friday-saturday so parking was greate buy would probobly be a problem any other day of the week
good location and extreamly helpfull staff ( didnt get pillow cover and duvet when i arrived so 5 min after my request the keeper came and actually helped me make my bed , felt so professional for a dorm house ) The top floor has a balcony and a lounge area with coumfy sofas beds and chairs

Windows didn't have blackout blinds so room got quite light in the morning.
Lovely central location with comfy beds and excellent facilities.

such a beautiful old house near the city centre of stavanger! felt like home from the first minute! really clean and has even a rooftop terrace. would choose it again!

There are steps up to the front door and stairs inside up to the kitchen/common room, which could be a minus. Otherwise this is the place for a 2-3 nights stay.
A clean and friendly guest house. Well organized. Only a short distance to the cathedral and city centre.

It was all good - would probably add lockers for people carrying laptops or valuables
It was very clean and tidy - well located and pretty. The common area is super cute and the balcony is nice. Toilets and kitchen and everywhere was extremely clean. The owners are very nice people

Place is small but well organized.
I am excited to found this place in the city center and markets available by walking distance. Eventhough I recommended this place for students who come to attend challenge based course from ECIU in Stavanger because this is an ideal place and the Host couple are friendly and cooperative. I wanna say to thank you both of them.

The booklet with information of the hikes and the transportation to get there should be updated.

The absence of lockers was a bit strange - appreciate Norway is safe but saves having to carry key possessions everywhere.

Overall, I have nothing to complain about. I believe the place was very good, but I will comment on a few points. There is not very good supervision of what goes on in the house, so it is easy for people to break some rules. For example, one person in my room returned to the house every day after 11 p.m., making a lot of noise (the person had not even made the bed to sleep), which was very inconvenient. Another negative point is that you have to go through external areas to access certain parts of the house (kitchen and some bathrooms) if you are in the male/boys dorms.
The owners of the house were super helpful and friendly. The location is great, close to the central train and bus station and just a few minutes from the center. In addition, the house is very well maintained and organized! The bathrooms, kitchen and bedroom have basically everything we need.

The property was clean, it was cozy, it felt comfortable and safe, the hosts were welcoming and attentive, and the house rules ensured that all the residents could spend their days and nights how they wanted. There are no lockers for storage, but the guesthouse doesn’t hold many people so there was a sense of trust.
