A bit expensive for a hostel but everything is outrageously overpriced in Amsterdam unfortunately

Rooms are very small and a bit of a squash and walls are thin so could hear talking from next door. Shared toilets and showers, which I don't usually like and are a bit tricky with a child, but it was manageable for one night.

Accommodation in Amsterdam is pretty expensive so this place offered great value and it's so unique too! Very easy to get to from the airport and only one stop on the train (the station is right next door) to the city centre. You can watch the trains going past from your bed - wasn't noisy at all. The carriage compartments are pretty small and you can hear the rooms next door quite easily, but it's the novelty of sleeping on a train that you stay here for. We had 3 bunks in the room - the top bunk is extremely high so not recommended for young kids. The communal areas are nice with a bar, an outside patio, and an area with games and books. The staff were friendly and my daughter enjoyed the complimentary lollipops! We only stayed here for one night but my 7 year old daughter absolutely loved it and we had lots of fun. This is such a cool place to stay!

Check-in timing, if it is written it will be at 15:00 is not very appreciate to wait for doing it due to cleaning completion.

Maybe i'll suggest to put a stable canopy that you can open on summer and close in winter instead of big umbrellas that can not block you from the strong wind. It was not a problem for us but if i could suggest something this is the only thing.

It was better than the prewiew on the site. The personal was h24 kind professional and helpful. The beds were comfortable. It was really nice to see a good cleaning. We had everything we booked for. Despite being on train (small spaces) the shower was really comfortable.

There is no lockers in the rooms and no ventilation in the train.

Staff were. super nice! And even the facilities are not the best it is a UNIQUE experience and that is what you will find if you stay there. The common area and the rooms are super cosy. Location is right next to the train station and flixbus and only 1 stop from Amsterdam Central Station.

The location, goes to sloterdijk and stay at home only down the stairs. I feel as a homeless sometymes. Amazing experience

There was not enough general light, the lamp was dim and when the weather turned cold, the air conditioner also blew cold. Sleeping in the cold is great, but changing clothes is not so great, but we later read that we could ask the staff for help with this. So if you are cold, go see the staff :)

Convenient to find (even in the evening). Cozy atmosphere and atmosphere, we were greeted by a cool guy (cheerful and friendly), the carriage was clean, and the toilet and shower too, by the way. It was comfortable to sleep! They poured us hot water and helped us with any questions.

The room was really small, but I expected that based on the fact that was a train.

I enjoyed my stay at the Train Lodge, the room was clean and the air was good. Hostel administrators were very attentive and helpful. There was a shower and hot water in the sink.

The room heater wasn’t too warm so I had to ask the receptionist to turn it up. They don’t have hot water in the bathroom, I didn’t want to shower at all.

Very close to Sloterdijk Station and bus terminals. Good breakfast and hot chocolate to start the day.

Rooms were very small (though this is to be expected) and showers were often difficult to get when wanted (though again is often the case with hostels). Toilets were often clean but again, used by many people.

Cute and quirky hostel with amazing staff. Convenient location just next to Sloterdijk train station and with great information and resources available in reception to inspire any trips.

We had 4 large suitcases so it was a bit squishy in the cabin but we made it work for a couple of nights.

You can hear everyone talking due to the thin walls. The dorm would also have been too small for 6 people slipping in it since there's almost no space to put your luggage.

The staff is ready to help and really friendly. The 6-people room is quite tiny but still confortable. The common area is cute and well-decorated. In addition, the hostel is near the train station, which is very practical to go to Amsterdam Centraal in no time.

We were away for the day and evening. When we came back, the reception employee was rather unfriendly, almost annoyed to have to work for 2 minutes. Not a single word of welcome, no politeness whatsoever. Total opposite of the reception staff present in the morning.

The rooms are smaller than expected and with 3 people sharing such a small space it was always very hot! Staff did their best to help to solve the issue although it was always warmer than it needed to be, the beds are comfortable but they aren't full size so if you're taller it may be a struggle.

Staff were really lovely and always available to help! The location is fab for getting into town,really quiet considering it was by the station. The reception/sitting area was so welcoming and really homely, it was a very chilled place to be. Great value for money and the coffee is incredible!

We had 3 of us in our cabin in a triple bunk cabin so it was tight but that is par for the course i suppose - we were on a stationary train. Sockets - 2 in the cabin in a double socket and the time you put your adapter in you lost one so we were a little restricted in chargers. There are lots of sockets in the bar carriage though for laptops and phones.

located close to railway station and on the line from airport to city centre. The novelty of staying on a train appealed to us. Place was great, had a small bar and catered for all our needs. There is a decent breakfast cafe right next door that does top quality pancakes or full english breakfast and coffees. Staff were friendly and place was clean. It was warm and cosy and the water and showers was always hot.
