Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyThe suite was clean enough, but some dust in some areas, could be better. It’s also starting to age.
Hotel is the best value for money option I have had for a long time. The comparably low rates are because the hotel is run by first year students, but they did a remarkable job during our stay, clearly visible how motivated they are.

AustriaAnyone who loves design and architecture will absolutely love this hotel. It's run by students and is unique in every way. Everyone is very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast leaves nothing to be desired, and the location near the city of Maastricht is fantastic. It's surrounded by greenery and quiet. It's easily and quickly accessible by bike and bus.

Attentive , polite, well organised hotel. Facilities and service were of a very high standard. It was a joy to share in the teaching of future hotel managers. Ideally located in beautiful park lands, next to bus and train facilities.

United KingdomWe had to smile when settling into the room. It wasn't a matter of dislike in service it was the actual design of the room. I believe the rooms can be previewed on line but we didn't do that. The room was clean, the bed was very comfortable & the view over the grounds very enjoyable. However the shower, washbasins & modern egg shaped (very classy) toilet do not have a door separating the room from the main accommodation. If you're ok with that then fine, if not avoid room 7.
Location was good, the staff & students manning reception were very welcoming & helpful. This can be said throughout this excellent facility be it housekeeping, hospitality as I say wherever. Breakfast was buffet style & adequate, service provided by a combination of students & experienced staff on hand. I recommend having a brief chat with students as you come into contact throughout the hotel - it's wonderful to witness their enthusiasm, some nerves with the relatively new starters which is rapidly overcome with excitement, to the longer serving students about to welcome their parents & others to an event where they will be showcasing their culinary & hospitality skills. Don't let the word student put you off in any way, Everyone we encountered staff & students alike were very professional with many students beyond their years in terms of attitude, enthusiasm & person to person skills. Most certainly we would return to this Hotel. Byron & Sue, Lincolnshire UK

United KingdomNo air conditioning, though a fan was provided. A bit out of the centre of town - a 10 minute bus ride plus 15 minutes walking.
The student staff were excellent - very professional, helpful and cheerful. The breakfast was good, with freshly cooked eggs (supplement payable). Had an excellent evening meal. A beautiful chateau building with interesting modern updates.

NetherlandsI had requested a room with a bath and I had already asked for breakfast to be booked which was confirmed through booking messages however none of this informations were registered upon arrival. Probably a communication issue between shift, that being said, students are still learning so no major issues :)
I loved the castle as well as the garden. It is such a wonderful historic location, you’re surrounded by nature while being close to the city. I love having breakfast by the pond on the terrace. The students are learning the art of hospitality and the management is very kind and professional - we had a magical stay. I would definitely come again :)

United KingdomIt was an old chateau set in the north of Maastricht. It had a park around it and a n easy to park in car park. Our room was very big on the top floor. It had a bed with colour changing lights on the frame . There was also a swing and hammock inside the room. A long natural wood trestle style table was at one end with a selection of toys and jigsaws on it for a child. Dining outside by a lake in the sun was lovely and the food was fine dining and beautifully presented. The hotel was run by first year students on a four year course and this made the hotel a special experience for us. They were charming and professional
