Not much noise during night. Nice personal. Nice surrondings.

Breakfast could be more exiting. If it was changed a bit every day. It was boring to get same food every day. It would be easy to just change small things. Maybe different chese, brie, soft etc. And different vegtables, tomatoes, peber etc. not always only cucumber. And maybe some leberwurts/pate, not only the same ham and sauges every day. The lamps in the room is turning off too fast. It is stressing in the bath and toilet.

Very unique place too sleep Very basic but the uniques cover on it Nice bar inside the hotel Basic but good breakfast

    Property response:

Thank you for your review! We're happy you enjoyed the unique atmosphere, bar, and breakfast. We'll check the shower issue. As for the noise — staying in a castle can come with a bit of character and sound, but we understand it’s not for everyone. Thanks again for your feedback! Kind regards, Nikki | Stayokay Heemskerk

To stay in old beautiful castle is unprecedented marcelous idea! You are really close to few dutch sea resorts. Bergen aan Zee strand definatly recommended for calm relax during some rainy days😉 There really was a great, great work done by the new owner of that castle. The secret paths next to the baroque garden are beautifully maintained and you can see the daily work has to be done properly there. That garden staff affords for some raise!Between the trees, roses, sheeps, vegetables and herb garden you can wonderfully relax on the numerous clean benches. All plants are with helpful descriptions. The daily maintenance of the garden and the surroundings deserve respect if anybody done that by own garden. I regret I couldn’t try coffee and breakfast because that seems to be probably really pleasent experience in castle patio surroundings. Staff in castle by reception totally not intrested in you and rather unhelpful.

You have to remember that you are in old castle but… Somebody’s hairs and dirt (probably also from floor) on a bed sheets made me to shorten my vacation and quit staying in Hostel and come back home-I had that possiblity. Room scrapped and signatured by some kids on a walls. But could be worse for that price for those who know the hostel-market in the NL. Anyway, stuff rather unpleasent passing you by without any eye or smile contact maybe because they work in a castle:| Maybe the owner should hire one more person to learn old and new staff what is the difference to be open to clients and more pleasent and welcoming efect. Take all your things from car because (free available that is a huge +) parking is public and visited during by dark painted golf gti’s night deals.(checked twice).

The fact that the hostel is located in a castle.

It is not possible to enter the facility after midnight. So you cannot fully enjoy the tourist attractions in the area or go out for a late dinner at a restaurant. Definitely the worst service in the entire chain of these hostels

    Property response:

Dear Arjo, Thanks for your feedback, and we’re sorry to hear about your experience :(. Our front door does close at midnight for safet, but a night pass is usually available with a deposit (unless there are large groups or other disturbances). Sorry if this wasn’t mentioned at check-in, we’ll make sure to communicate this more clearly in the future. Kind regards, Anne - Stayokay Heemskerk

We had a good stay in the family quadruple room! The hotel’s location is excellent, with ample parking suitable for buses and cars. The breakfast was good however the timing 8AM-10AM is bit late for us and the staff were incredibly kind, even accommodating an earlier breakfast before the usual 8 AM start. Additionally bath towels were included for family room which was good.

The shower was disappointing and quite challenging for our children under 10 years old to us
