Big shout out to the member of staff that greeted us on arrival. We cycled from Hook of Holland and he was very professional and helpful. Our room was comfortable and the facilities were great for our needs. We left our bikes locked outside the hotel overnight and they were ok. The hotel is in very close proximity to the old town.

United KingdomWhile the general hotel and breakfast room seemed clean, Our room had been tidied but not cleaned. Beds were made and new linen but the sink had hair, the floor was grimy and had coins left by a previous resident (showing it hadn’t been cleaned between visitors), the bedside tables were sticky, and someone had cut themselves and left blood on the bathroom door, wall and room door. I asked at reception for the room to be cleaned properly with all surfaces properly cleaned but when we came back, it seemed only a cursory sweep was done and the blood on the outside door had been removed. I wiped the room down myself with baby wipes as I had to get my child to bed so I could see it hadn’t been cleaned from the dirt/ remaining blood on the wipes. There was also a dead beetle we passed every day in the corridor that showed it hadn’t been hoovered. Felt like a basic thing to miss.
This is a bright and friendly hotel with a home away from home style of layout and services. Staff are really friendly so you feel very welcome to hang out in the lounge and have a drink or read a book. Breakfast was a classic continental with gluten free options available and the coffee wasn’t bad. The location is really good, quiet enough to get a good night’s sleep but only 10 mins walk from the best of Haarlem. The station is also a 10 min stroll if you go down the canal rather than through the centre of town. Communal areas generally felt clean and you can borrow an iron from reception. Rooms 301-306 have a view of another building and a car park but are very quiet.

The room has a more modern vibe to it. It has plenty of space and in a quiet passage of the hotel. Breakfast had a wonderful spread and tasty options. The location was just outside the parameters of the old city which removes you from the business but puts you close enough to all the action.

I have highlighted it to the manager, i like the fact that he is proactive and willing to satisfy the guests. Overall, it was a nice stay. I'll still choose it again. The room was very clean, with a comfortable matress. The city center is in walking distance (10-15 minutes, depending where you want to go). A car park, supermarket and a bar/restaurant is more or less across the street (4 minutes). All in all a good price/value ratio.
