Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BelgiumWith the weather a bit hotter, the absence of airco makes for hotter rooms. You can open the window, though as there are no fly screens, you might have to tolerate some less welcome friends. There is a ventilator in the room, but of course, that doesn't cool it down. Overall it was a small nuisance only, as there are heavy curtains, so as long as you open the window once the light is out, I didn't notice mosquitoes and slept very well.
Muze hotel is a lovely place right at the water. Friendly reception and great breakfast with a homely feel. Design of the hotel is great and I always love the honesty bar concept. You can take your drink outside in the garden and still do some work or reading, or go into town which is 5 mins on foot. Definitely recommended and make sure to take a look in the photo book about the renovation of the hotel, great before and after pictures.

BelgiumThe bed wasn't so comfortable, perhaps the mattresses were too soft? The room was really hot and even when on the second day the weather was much more fresh, if we slept with the windows shut, it was too hot in the room to sleep comfortably. The water pressure for the shower was a bit too low. We found the price a bit too high.
We liked the location of the hotel, close enough to the buzzing city center and quiet enough as the hotel is in a residential neighbourhood. We appreciated the service and kindness at the breakfast which was lovely. We liked the decoration with style and character. The room was very clean, and the bath towels were changed each day.

United KingdomNothing; all lovely!
We had a truly beautiful room - green, with a mural of a jungle - and view out over the canal. I had let the MUZE Hotel staff know in advance that I need a gluten- and dairy-free diet, and they provided g-f bread and soya yoghurt for me at breakfast; much appreciated.

United StatesOur room was a bit small for a king sized bed, and the shower did not provide privacy. Good for a couple but not friends, maybe.
Great location on the canal, with public transportation and lots of restaurants nearby. Beautiful common room.

BelgiumHad a lovely stay at Muze over the weekend. It's conveniently located a step's throw from the hustle and bustle of the main street crossing the city centre, and its position alongside one of the canals means the surroundings are very calm and peaceful. The staff and their friendliness was truly the highlight of our stay. Everyone we spoke to was kind, approachable and generous. Breakfast was great, as was our room. We truly had a wonderful time and are already thinking of going back!

NetherlandsJust to mention one thing that could be improved is the check-in flexibility. Staff is only available from 16:00 to 18:30, which makes arrival timing a bit limited.
The rooms are bright, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. Everything was spotless and thoughtfully arranged. The location is ideal — peaceful yet just a short walk from everything in Utrecht. I noticed the care and attention to detail in the room straight away, and when I later read the story behind the renovation on the website, I was genuinely moved and impressed.

The staff are very friendly. The check-in time is from 16:00 to 18:30. They called me to ask about my arrival time and waited for me to check in (I arrived around 18:45). The room and bed are quite spacious. The location is not too far from the metro station and city centre. Breakfast is good.
