The parking is not in front of the stay, there were no clear directions, so this should be communicated better

The climb to the room, as others mentioned, wasn't an issue since I knew about it before booking. However, they could improve by providing body wash/shampoo in neat containers. There was just a nearly empty bottle, so I ended up buying my own from a nearby supermarket.

Great value for the price! Easy check-in/out, clean, and in a fantastic location.

I don’t like the check in process. Sort of nerve wracking. Very steep stairs. Very dark room with no real space to store luggage or personal items. Very poor electrical/ plug ins. More expensive than it should be.

Nice apartment very conveniently situated in the middle of Overveen, which is a lovely little town near the beach with great public transport connections to Haarlem and Amsterdam. Big comfortable bed, modern bathroom, little balcony where you can sit. The apartment is above a friendly and good quality pizza restaurant so there is a little bit of kitchen noise early in the evenings but they close early.

Checkin process is quick and easy, even without the property being manned. It is close to a nice restaurant for dinner, a park for a nice walk and there is a nice place for breakfast and coffee around the corner.

It was messy, with missing toilet holder, broken tap, power outage and no attention to detail whatsoever! No soap and doors that hardly closed. Noisy as could hear other guest clearly.

There was a discrepancy between the description and the reality. Windows can’t be opened. No fridge. No TV. No iPad. No dining area. And the first two days the air conditioning did not work.

No where on booking it was mentioned that it is on a second floor and dangerous staircase. I booked for family and have a 15 months old baby. The safety was zero. It was so difficult with luggage to move to second floor with small baby. On top of it No WiFi in the room, no toiletries. The stay was not very happy. Neither the hotel was beach front.

Be aware very steep steps to the room on the second floor. Lights were low wattage in the room. Dusty in the room and hangers on the open storage. Fridge wasn’t working but we didn’t need it. I would have been annoyed if we did. There were trailing electrics on extension leads. Beds were singles pushed together with thin mattresses. They slid about on the divan bases. Said toiletries were supplied…it was a used bottle with shampoo on it and mucky fingerprints on. Luckily we brought soap etc. the premises was a door accessed by a mobile app method which led to stairs with 2 rooms then stairs again and 2 rooms. There was a cupboard with extra bedding and towels but also in with the cleaning materials and cleaning cloths. We were sent instructions to check out 24 hours earlier by mistake which caused anxiety as access is by opening the doors by the app. I contacted the owner, no apology. The description of the property needs amending re distances etc. It was okay but disappointed.

Instructions re the property were good and timely. Beds were clean. Location was great for what we needed.

this is a vacation rental, a VRBO, not a hotel. No reception, no maid service, no staff on premises. There are four rooms but no one to secure the rentals or give friendly advice about the area. the “manager” inundated me with nasty emails but never bothered to even say hello in person. I have no idea if Sam is a man or a woman, but they were jerk. My room was double booked and I had to tell the woman who came after me that the room was my rental. No coffee or clean towels after the first day. Ladders to the attic blocked access to my room. Sam canceled my 3 day booking but notified by email I read the last day. Hostile but I never had to meet staff. front desk was a hall closet, literally. Booking. com did not help at all with this VRBO but spouted plenty of kind platitudes. The rates are comparable to Amsterdam hotels.

Overveen is a small picturesque Dutch village in between the North Sea and Haarlem, a must see town just outside Amsterdam. it is a train ride away from gorgeous seaside sunsets and farmers markets and the true life Holland cultural Mecca.
