I can't wait to visit when you have extended the hotel. Right now I found it a little on the expensive side in terms of value for money, but the charming building, the "can do" of the staff made up for it.

Lara, our host was absolutely incredible. I organise a number of Formula One trips for customers, and when we go somewhere I have never been before, I often need a bit of extra help. I got that in spades. I told Lara directly, she is incredible and made everything easy for me. THANK YOU!

The whole way the old prison complex had been repurposed by the Dutch is brilliant and the hotel uses the former Admin Buildings to great effect. My rooms had an abundance of natural light and was very stylish using themes from the prior usage and all was executed in a simple and seamless manner. The bed was very comfortable and bathroom was huge and well appointed whilst the tea and coffee were top notch quality. Additionally it is nice to be in a room not dominated by a TV screen. The staff were very helpful and pleasant to interact with. Short walk into the city centre via the canals so what not to like?

Such an interesting property, the rooms are in the administrative building in the prison complex and the main building is beautifully preserved using one of the cells as reception. Very friendly and helpful woman at check-in who let us secure our bikes in a separate area. Great view from the room to see the church and windmill. Very comfortable room, great shower and good location.

Room was really small, it was difficult to find a space for even a small suitcase. The bed was large but quite soft mattress so if you prefer more sturdy ones you will not sleep very well

Excellent location, very nice historical building. Very clean room, I really enjoyed the quality of room (and bathroom) finishing (e.g. very nicely placed tiles under the shower, stone countertops). Breakfast was large and tasty (loved sourdough bread!)

Amazing top floor room - the bathroom was fantastic and had a gorgeous sun roof through which you could see the de koepel from. Loved the scents of the soaps, and also the bed and linen! Soft but firm. Art in the room was gorgeous and thanks for the welcome chocolate too!

There isn't anything I didn't like. The one thing I'd note is that the loft rooms have the bed up some stairs which could be challenging for those with mobility issues.

Excellent location. Walking distance to the main area with restaurants, bars etc. but still in a quiet location. The hotel is on the complex of the newly re-developed prison which makes for an interesting place to visit and is where the very delicious breakfast is served. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Usually when the windows don’t open I never give a hotel a good review, but since it’s in an old jail you can’t blame them.

Very unique property. Right next to the old jail that’s been converted to a university, cinema, restaurants, art exhibits. Immaculately clean. Wonderful bedding, pillows and towels. Great location. Close to the center of old town, by the canals. Staff was wonderful and welcoming. Even with checking in on the biggest holiday of the year. Not yo far from the airport.

The Metzlr House went above and beyond my expectations for an overnight stay! Not only was the staff incredibly attentive and accommodating, the room was very comfortable, beautiful, and more than what I had expected in the best way. It made me wish I could have extended my stay in the area, especially with its' central location. It already has a lot of great amenities, but I'm sure once the construction is completed for the rest of the building, it will be even more amazing!
