Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Turkeyfirst I was in room 107, the elevator was not working and not repaired during my stay. the staff let me move to a downstairs room #9. There the problem was noise. Somehow whatever noise was made upstair rooms was heard in the room. Plus the breakfast staff started to work very early and their noise was in the room. Had to wake up early, even if I didn't want to.
small, functional, on the ground floor--thus easy access

NetherlandsThe room had a ventilation system that was quite noisy for me. Eventually it shut down (it was not noisy when I woke up), but even when going fairly late to bed it was still active. The room also seemingly did not have AC, which was not a problem for me but I am not sure how hot that room could get on the peak of summer.
The room was on the upper floor and it was in a sense quite charming and a nice place to be in. I did not have any issues with noise from neighbouring buildings or other rooms.

NorwayI dislike that I had only one night to spend in Amsterdam..
Very «atmospheric», I like old buildings when maintained. Feels like living with history.

United StatesNothing to report except that the lift was not working the last day we were there.
The location was perfect for walking most of the city. Our room was a "basement" room and better than we expected. Breakfast was filling. The lift was nice for us older folks, though we had to walk up a flight of stairs for the breakfast room. We had a nice stay here.

The hotel met most of my expectations. The location was slightly further out from the central station than I expected, but this is not a major issue.

SwedenWe arrived ahead of 3 PM, but got a room right away. Great service! The large double beds for two persons, which suited us well. Comfy beds. Good standard breakfast, with what you expect to be served. Nice staff in the reception as well as in the breakfast room. A walking distance from the train central station. Calm area.

BelgiumSteep stairs, small corridors (it is in two old houses). They have an elevator, but not the type I trust. Small room without airco (we stayed on the hottest days in August), but there was a fan.
Most friendly staff. Perfect location near the Central Station and walking distance to shopping and restaurants. Free coffee at the reception. Reasonsbly priced.

United KingdomThe hotel has a very steep stairs which can be a problem for some since it is situated in one of the original houses. The room was on a smaller side, but it was OK for one night.
The location of this hotel is great. Easy walking distastance to the Central Station and city centre itself. It is very near the Amsterdam Cruise Terminal which is handy if someone is taking a cruise from there. The staff was very nice, kind and helpful and kindly stored my luggage before check-in and even after check-out.

Trinidad and TobagoThe location was great, just a couple minutes away from the central station, restaurants and can easily walk around to the busier areas. The reception staff were lovely and great to the kids when they wanted to get hot chocolate from the machine in the lobby area. We only stayed for two days and it was comfortable.

AustraliaHotel Library was in a really convenient spot for the price, walking distance to the main areas like the Red Light District and plenty of bars, restaurants, and shops nearby. The room had everything I needed for a short stay and was a good base to explore the city. Would recommend for anyone looking for something simple and central.
