Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomRoom could have been slightly better equipped (plates, knives, bottle opener) we only had one chair for 3 of us, would have been better to have a bigger room for 3 adults but it was comfy enough.
Location was great and the food (tapas especially) was lovely. Staff so friendly. Average prices for the area. Overall very good

United KingdomGenerally good but just a little disappointed with the view - and the lay-out was a little strange with a big wardrobe dividing the room - would have preferred a double bed
Generally comfortable with a fridge and good shower , coffee machine- this room is more for a family-

AustraliaWe had a private bathroom but in a separate room from the bedroom - ours was down three steps and across the corridor. We knew this when we booked but it was a bit more annoying than I'd expected. I must be getting old! Also I'd forgotten how much people still smoke in NL - the smell of smoke when eating breakfast was not great.
Lovely restaurant downstairs, where we ate on our first night, and good continental breakfast. Coffee machine, kettle and fridge in room were good, but nowhere to cook so don't expect to self cater. Based in the centre of this quiet but attractive village, which has an excellent market on Fridays, and is handy for visiting Leiden, Den Haag and further afield. Clean room and comfy beds, quiet despite being above the restaurant.

BelgiumLimited parking on the days where there is a street market.
Some rooms were free so the owner kindly upgraded us to their most modern room. The restaurant was open until late so it also allowed us to do a late check in and enjoy a good dinner without any worries. The neighborhood around the hotel was quite nice.

United KingdomThe bedside light over my bed wasn't working even though it was such a new room. The bin in the bathroom hadn't been emptied & there was what looked like a pair of men's underpants behind the toilet.
Lovely new room for 4 although only 2 of us. Television on either side of room Beautiful pictures of Seville above the beds. Reasonable amount of storage on the 2 wardrobes. Fridge in corner with coffee maker, kettle & tea bags etc. Amazing roomy bathroom with twin showers plus hand held one. Also twin sinks. The downstairs bar was the breakfast area, providing an adequate continental selection & also a very good tapas restaurant on an evening.

United StatesIf you are visiting Leiden there are limited options for public transportation and a car is your best option. However, be aware that parking in Leiden is difficult and expensive.
Really quaint facility on a beautiful street. Nice restaurant down stairs and public parking a block away.

Manager was very busy when I arrived during a festival. But he diverted to look after me and storage of my bike. My room was huge and comfortable. Excellent (optional) dinner & breakfast.

United KingdomThere was just one small problem. We found we had to prebook our taxis as the local ones were always busy. Also I would advise you to book them in good time as our one home was half an hour late. So as long as you are prepared it would not be a problem.
The room was excellent, including a fabulous double shower and air conditioning. The breakfast was good but perhaps more suited to adults. Struggled to get two English youngsters to eat any of the continental breakfast but the adults were more than happy. We had a smashing meal in the evening, good selection. Plus a special thank you to Jackie who helped us carry our cases up stairs to our room. Much appreciated!

PolandI wouldn't recommend this B&B to people with any mobility issues, because you access the rooms through a really steep staircase.
Very good room with stylish decorations (there was even an original 1940s encyclopedia in 18 volumes on the shelf!). Fridge was also a very nice surprise - you don't get it often within this price range. Very helpful staff, who directed us to a free public parking nearby.

BelgiumThe television is a little small, and the sound-proofing between rooms could be better, but that's just being very, very picky! Cooked breakfast would be nice, but again, that's comparing a bed and breakfast with a hotel, which is perhaps a bit unfair.
This is a typical home-from-home bed & breakfast: well-appointed room, nice pod-based coffee machine, great shower, air-conditioning... Breakfast is excellent, in their restaurant (which serves great tapas, by the way). The service is warm and friendly, with great advice for the town, parking, etc.
