The upstairs room bed frame was broken but as we arrived late and only stayed one night left it.

Location, everything is within walking distance. Great for cyclists who are using the ferry as it has secured cycle parking in the courtyard.

This is an older hotel with character and a social hostel style. If you want total privacy and high end fittings and fixtures this is not the place for you.

Location from the ferry and everything you need is within walking distance including the railway station. Staff friendly and very helpful giving us a ground floor room due to disability. Outside courtyard is a bonus for morning coffee and smokers.

Very friendly helpful people. Clean, good sized room with big double bed & private bathroom. Extra quilt & pillow in wardrobe. Although radiators were on, it was a little chilly still, but not uncomfortably so...til you stepped out of shower 🫣 anyway. We were a little concerned about the noise from the extractor fan at first but realised that it turned itself off a little while after the bathroom light was turned off 👍 Breakfast was excellent. We would stay here again 😊

Everything was good, but the bed could've been a bit more comfortable but despite that I slept okay.

The staff were friendly and the hotel is just a short walk away from both the metro and the ferry terminal, so very convenient. It's also just one stop away from the beach, which is dog friendly. My dog travelled with me and they were very accommodating. The breakfast was very filling too.

Arrived during the stated check-in hours: nobody was present and the door was locked. Rang the phone number provided, then waited outside for 40 minutes before the manager (or owner?) arrived. Luckily, it was sunny. But worse: on my last evening the manager/owner knocked on my room door, smelling strongly of alcohol (sorry, have to mention that) and claimed I had not paid. In fact I prepaid six weeks before my stay and had documents to prove this, which I'd offered to show when checking in. I handed them over and that sort of closed the matter. But there was not even a hint of an apology. It was an unpleasant experience, one I've never had before. The hotel management needs to be much more professional in my view.

The location is good. Breakfast was generous; the staff serving it were friendly and professional. A little old-fashioned, but I didn’t mind (see below however...).

Breakfast was incredible! I wasn’t expecting so much. And the ladies running breakfast were lovely and professional. It is also dog friendly and only 20 mins walk or so to the beach where you can also walk your dog. It is only a 15 min walk from Stena ferry port.
